Entertaining game, but a complete lack of execution tonight by everyone not named MacK, Landeskog, EJ, and Girard.

Cole had Zadorovirus, Jost went back to being useless everywhere, and Francouz was quite terrible. That third goal is inexcusable from any who wants to play at the NHL level.

I'd be pissed too if my org wasn't outputting the most optimal lineup possible. It's gotta be extremely frustrating to have to carry this team all season and watch the suits dick around with the lineup and take better players away from the roster to protect ELC years.
Yeah I'm pretty sure it's not about Kaut.
Sleeping on 6M cap space though, probably.

Despite the score the Avs outplayed the Canucks more than they’ve outplayed anyone in a month or more. That’s without Makar, Kadri, Rantanen, Burakovsky, Grubauer, Calvert and Z.

Gotta get healthy and start scoring more than 3 goals a game like they can.

Boy, if this game didn't highlight the fact that our defensive depth isn't just Makar covering a ton of weak spots...
What this game, and the last few games actually, have highlighted for me (not that I didn't think this from the get-go) is that if we're going into the playoffs with Ryan Graves on the 1st pairing with Cale Makar, we're in for a rude awakening.

The injuries are catching up to the Avs. I said it before its easier to deal with big injuries early in the season. Its alot different when you are facing desperate teams and the Nucks are a desperate team. The Avs were very bad defensively tonight and Francouz could not help them. Lets also not forget that the Avs had a PP they pissed away yet again. Someone needs to explain to me why Nuke isnt on PP1,

Agreed 100%. The 4th line played like 4 minutes tonight, that's completely unacceptable. I'd be furious if I was MacKinnon.

Everyone just chill out. Sakic didn’t mess up the deadline, the team isn’t doomed. Francouz isn’t standing on his head anymore, and that sucks since we have half of a team right now, but nothing could’ve been done at the deadline that would’ve made us better now and in the future.

It’s one game. When the reinforcements arrive things will look a lot better.
And when will that be??

Mackinnon lacks any IQ when its truly needed. You cant make a softer play then that one there. Mackinnon is pissed on the bench looked like he was talking to Jared.

The Avs didnt deserve to win this one. Too many defensive lapses.

Francouz has come crashing down to earth. Hasnt been good the last two games and was very bad tonight.

EJ was probably our best dman tonight.

Zero finish is whats been killing this team even when they were on that win streak they couldnt get that next goal to make life easier on them.

Way too many players on this team try to feed Mackinnon. This is why its nice to have greedy Kadri sometimes because Naz dont play.

Matt Nieto could have tied this game but he sucks and he doesnt provide anything for this team.
too much waiver fodder on the roster even when its healthy. Nieto/Graves/Jost/Kam/Barbs/Z all need to be upgraded at some point. But yeah Mack should be pissed at himself, he had a decent game compared to his recent stretch but is still playing dumb hockey, he's a bull out there physically but unfortunately mentally as well.

If Cale Makar had a Tanev or Myers to babysit like Hughes does the Calder wouldnt be in doubt lol. Ryan Graves LOVES to join the rush and go in deep as if hes the offensive star on that pairing. He did it tonight and it lead to that 2 on 1 goal against. Cole knows how Cale feels now.

Mack would be right to be mad at Sakic who didn't try to ice the best team possible this year.

I turned it off. He did it on TV again?
People are BSing and people are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Bednar wanted him to go out for a PP with 20 second left down 6-3 and MacK said something to the extent of what the f*** do you want me to do, and honestly don't blame him for saying it, Bednar shouldn't be asking him to do that for any reason.

The sad part is that goaltending is what cost them this game. It's sad for the Avs (who could have won with this roster) and extremely sad for the Canucks, who needed Francouz to shit the bed to defeat an AHL team featuring Nathan MacKinnon.
