Sure it's early but Newhook looks like dog shit. It's not close and doesn't look promising.

I’m sure he will get plenty of time to try to work on this. Avs basically have to give him a run to see.

I’ve beat the drum for a while (before he was even drafted) he just doesn’t have the skill set for the position and he’s struggled at center his whole time in the NHL. It hasn’t just been 2 games. Still he can rebound from this and play better.

When Landy returns, Mikko has to be 2C. with Artsi as wing - doesn't matter who is the third part. Newhook/ERod just do not have the capability of taking that position.

No. Newhook should be the 2C for a good 25-30 games.


I think it will fail miserably but you have to give him an extended chance at the spot so you can definitively know whether he's in the future plans or not.


If Newhook can't do it as a 2C he should be trade bait at the deadline to get one.
