I don't get why fans of other teams come here, and stir stuff up. Just let it be. By the way last year was Lundqvist's best year, but it wasn't his best year by leaps and bounds. I think Lundqvist is the best goaltender in the league currently, and I've defended him to the death over on the main board.

I just don't get why posters who like other teams come over, and nitpick everything. I'm a regular on the Rangers board, but only the OT thread. I stay out of the game day threads. I don't feel the need to argue with the posters over there saying ''Marty is a fat whale, he's 100 years old, and was never even a good goalie blah blah blah blah''.

Check the Ranger GDT; littered with Devil fans. Just normal game day activities.

I think the point is winning one is no guarantee of winning more.

Besides, these kinds of awards are massively overrated anyway. Scott Stevens never won a Norris trophy.

To be fair Marty should have won the Vezina in 95/96. He probably would have if the team showed up on the last day of the season to play Ottawa. They missed the playoffs, and it was awarded to Ace Ventura instead.

Part of the reason.

In an Olympic sized rink, skating is all the more important. A player like Biggs was a better skater and a more polished player than Matteau, hence Matteau getting cut.

Trying to compare Lundqvist at this point in his career to Brodeur won't really ever get you far.... As was said, guys like Hasek, Roy, Belfour were there when Brodeur was trying to get his first. Lundqvist plays in an era without ties, yet Brodeur had 403 wins by the time he was 31, 75 shutouts, 3 cups, etc. Never will a comparison be justifiable between the two. Doesn't matter how many more years Lundqvist plays or what numbers he puts up. It will never happen.
