I look at this and wonder WTF is the Yzerplan because this cobbled together collection of players looks more like an Yzerwingandaprayer to me.

Probably should have checked the calendar prior to season start. I would have driven out to Detroit to watch this one live. Probably for the best as the Oilers always lose when I'm in attendance. Which means we win this one today.

I honestly don’t understand how the Illitch Family is allowing this to continue.

The shine is off Steve and when Mr Illitch Sr passed, I thought they might cut bait.

They have some nice emerging parts (I really like the defense (Edvinsson, Seider, Chiarot) and goaltending with Lyon looks promising. Lucas Raymond is a player too.

But center strength is non existent and signing Kane and especially Tarasenko, should have been a fireable offense.

Coach will be the sacrifice lamb and be gone probably by Christmas I’d guess.

Edit - Go Oilers or Go Wings!! Either way I win today (as opposed to the marriage logic table).

I was confident beating Pens, that was an easy bet, not sure what to make of this one and haven't watched the Wings this year. They seem glued on .500.

The Wings roster looks like something glued together in a scrapbook and you scrap the book.

GM’s are overrated in general. Yzerman looked really smart when he had young Stamkos Hedman and established superstar St. Louis to start with. Not so easy building from the ground up eh?

I dislike KLowe as a person having met him and spent time with him, but you can’t deny that his ‘06 team construction and late season adds was some of the best GM work that Edmonton has seen, especially with limited funds. But yes, things were very tough in those years after…
