Oh well Luongo stole us a point. SO's are just a gimmick anyway, we hung with a top eastern team for 65 mins. The team seems to be coming together on this road trip.
Isn't he the one who allowed the bad tying goal in the first place?

I think Henrik and Daniel are worth testing on the shootout. Henrik's penalty shot from last year gives me faith, and their bad shootout attempts are based on a miniscule sample size.

Santorelli was the right choice. Kassian is another good option.

Luongo did well in the shootout, when you stop two you should at least extend the shootout another round.

Pretty good game. Could have won it with a better goaltending performance, but showed up well against a top team. Nothing to hang their heads about today.

I am so upset about losing the shootout.

Everyone on the team sucks.

I blame Luongo 100% for this loss which, once again, I am deeply depressed about.

We should all stress over losing the shootout, because shootouts are important.

Are you serious?? Luongo let in one bad goal, came up big on a penalty shot, and gave us a chance in the shootout. How is this on him? :shakehead :help:

Jesus, the SO was over when whoever decided to put Kesler out there. Wasn't a big fan of Luongo's game, but he was better in the third. Huge stop on the penalty shot and was good in the shoot out. I thought everyone else was pretty solid.

Sick move by Malkin. The bottom line though is the Canucks out played a very good Penguins team in their rink. They may have only came away with one point but they still played a great game.

Wonder what it requires for the Canucks to get some PP-oppertunities? ****ing joke refs.

They had a lead in the third and blew it.

They have a negative 5 on 5 goal differential.

How about we reserve ref blaming for when they have the rest of their game in order.

No Letang or Neal and we still can't beat them, it's great we're beating bad teams like the Oilers, NJ, Flyers, Sabres but what playoff team have we beaten this season?

Can't really be upset by that game on the whole. Despite giving up a few too many odd man rushes for my liking, the Canucks were the better team for much of the game. They appeared to run out of gas a bit in the last 5 minutes but on the whole, nothing but positives to take away from that one.

I have no idea if the stats will actually bear this out, but my feeling is that Edler and Kesler amassed the bulk of that percentage in the early days of the shootout and have been ice cold ever since. Again, probably not true, but it feels that way.

kesler's been off and on for the past few years (definitely more "off" recently), pretty sure edler's missed on his last 5 shots at least

Bah, should've been a regulation win for the Canucks, but I'm super happy to salvage a point from this game.

Shootouts are, and have always been, detrimental to the Canucks—we seldom have anyone good that can score in the shootout more than like 15-20% of the time.

Hopefully we can get the win in CBJ tomorrow and get 3 points in 24 hours.

Meh. We just don't have any good shooters other than Santorelli (and Burrows who is injured). Criticizing Edler and Kesler is silly because they actually probably have the highest shootout percentage of all the players available.

They're something like 18-3 in their last 21 shooters. I'd say that their G and of course their shooters are pretty good.

I'd personally have iced Kassian, Daniel and Booth
