Please, explain how it means very little to avoid the Bruins and Pens when we're 0-7-1 against those teams. I would really like to understand this.

If this is the logic you want to use, why did we concede the previous game?

We aren't avoiding the Bruins/Pens without a minor Philly implosion.

Sunrise seems like a bad place for a hockey team. No wonder the team draws poorly given how far it appears to be from the major population centers of SF. It'd be like us playing in Blacklick.
Sunrise is actually 30-40 miles from downtown Miami. It would actually be like us playing on the far outskirts of Lancaster.

We avoid the Bruins with a win. That's the one team nobody wants to play. That reason alone is enough for Bob to start.

I don't put any stock in the 0-7-1 record against Boston and Pitt, we didn't play Boston after November, when we were sucking, and we only played Pitt once since the end of December. We are a much better team than we were in November and December. Bob didn't play but half a game against Pitt I don't believe. All the games were close except 1. I'm rooting to play the Rangers for the drama, but I wouldn't be scared of the Pens or Boston either. We have played .625 hockey since Jan. 1. We can play with anyone, this squad is built for playoff hockey, hard hitting, great goaltending, aggitators, greasy goals, that's playoff hockey and we could be the LA Kings when they won if Bobby gets hot, I believe!

And playing Pittsburgh is supposed to be much better? We haven't done anything against them since 2011. There was an opportunity to put pressure on the Flyers by winning last night. We declined to do so.

If the Pens hold on to this game now and we win that sets it up for tomorrow's CAR/PHI game. Carolina just went on the road and beat Detroit and all we need them to do is take that Philly game to a SO. That is a very realistic possibility! No way we don't treat this game as a playoff type game. If we draw NYR in the 1st round we can win. Philly plays Pitt really well so you could see an upset there. We could possibly see home ice in the 2nd round versus Philly and it all starts with a win today.

And a PIT win, which it's 1-1 now

I totally understand what you're saying, and all I'm saying [and after this I will drop it] is that it should've started yesterday, with a win, and you don't give yourself a good shot to do that by playing McE over Bob. Especially when you consider that the other game in question is against Florida, a team that has struggled mightily this season, a team that has scored 45 less goals than Tampa Bay, and a team that currently sits 3rd from the bottom and has nothing left to play for.

I agree 100%. Bob should have played yesterday. That was a bad move by resting him. He would've had plenty of rest before the playoffs. I don't agree with a lot of the moves Richards makes but that's something I'm not going to get started on.

I still disagree that we should be afraid of a Boston matchup. We've played them well this year - and (already mentioned) we haven't played them since November. Now that Philly is out of the realm of possibility, I think we match up against the Rangers best, but Boston is my second choice.

The only part of Boston that makes me think Pitt is a better matchup is goaltending, other than that, I think it would be a great, physical series! That said, I would prefer to play someone from our own division to start creating rivalries and not cross over to the Atlantic. The buzz wouldn't be as epic as Rangers or Pitt too.

For me the gap between Boston and Pitt is best described as "big ass." Boston has every intangible possible to be a scary playoff team, from goaltending to grit to experience.

Pens are wildly inconsistent, half the fan base is calling for the managers head, etc.

I know others don't share that opinion on this board.

Put Bob in plz

We're heading over to the the arena, and yes, it's in a pretty remote place...my father lived down here so I've been over to see Panther games with him...you can almost spit in the Everglades from the sidewalk around the arena, lol, it's so far west...the Sun Sentinal pre game report said no local television coverage...that's pretty sad for a professional sports team (a near cellar dwelling team at that)...interim head coach Peter Horachek called out his team in the paper, hoping they felt bad about not making the playoffs this season...hope that didn't light any small fires, we need a despondent team to roll tonight going into next week...tickets were easy to procur, we're sitting in the Jackets shoot twice corner equivalent to section 122 lower (Nationwide Arena) for $45 a ticket...

And I think 72 needs to be in net tonight...we need a win and some positive vibes heading into next week (provided we win, of course)

Yup, definitely no point in playing Bob tonight now. God forbid he gets injured in a meaningless game.
