They should finally give Bob a rest against THE WORST OFFENSIVE TEAM MAYBE EVER

Oh wait

I wouldn't be against them splitting this game. I'd have to go look but after last nights ROL I don't think it matters other than avoiding Boston.

We have to win this game.

Doesn't matter who we play, losing consecutive games before the playoffs would suck. Don't want to enter the playoffs on a low point.

Definitely matters. Philly drops two or loses one in reg and one in OT and we need to win to move to third. And avoiding Boston imo is important.

Like I said, I'll have to look but, I didn't realize 3rd was still in play.

A Ranger match-up would be sweet although I think it's unlikely.

Big game tonight. Wonder what kind of effort Florida will bring - Jackets need to jump on this team early because the legs will be heavy late.

Decided against making the drive down for this one tonight. I hate South Florida anyway.

If by some crazy chance we wind up in a series with NYR, I'll fly back for a playoff game.

I know I'm supposed to be unhappy about starting McElhinney last night, but he had to start one game and it seems to me it's a calculated risk that makes sense. Beating TB was essentially 50/50, maybe a little better a little worse with or without Bob in net. Beating Florida with Bob in net is probably 80/20. Hope Mac steals one and then hope Bob does his thing. Makes sense to me anyway...

Unless Bob needs a maintenance day; I would expect him in net.

After Bob didn't start last night; I'm surprised we didn't see a fire Richards thread to entertain us this morning.

If avoiding Boston means the consolation prize is playing Pittsburgh, then I don't think it matters all that much if we win or lose tonight. If the hope is that we still have a shot at playing the Rangers, then I say put Bob in ... but, if it's just to avoid one strong team for another, I say sit him and let him go into the playoffs completely rested.

The Penguins have Marc-Andre Fleury in goal, whose playoff performances have been terrible .... we all know how the Jackets do against back-up goalies :sarcasm:

Well they already announced Bob was starting tonight...so.

Big game, we can clinch Pittsburgh at worst, or we can go in and keep our NYR hopes alive.

does it really matter?
Bob should play tonight and get himself set for the playoffs. If he doesn't play I would say a week is to long of a lay off for him with the first game coming up on the road. This game keeps the rust off and gives the Jackets the best chance going out on a winning note. Not to mention going into the playoffs with 2 losses.

I just think they have to win this game so they don't have to play Boston. That should be motivation enough.

Obviously, if we win then we avoid Boston. If Philly loses today and we win then we need Carolina to either beat Philly tomorrow or get the game to a shoot out. That would give us the same amount of ROW as Philly. The next tiebreaker is head-to-head, which we own. Therefore, this is a huge game that Bob must play. He still gets plenty of rest for the playoffs.

The photo of Sunrise is hilarious especially in context with all the others Sam finds to represent hockey towns.

These are goalie decisions I'd have made. Give Bob a short rest, then a game to keep him sharp, and another rest.

I didn't mean condescension, I literally couldn't find anything better in a 30 minute search.

Sunrise seems like a bad place for a hockey team. No wonder the team draws poorly given how far it appears to be from the major population centers of SF. It'd be like us playing in Blacklick.

Because the team "rested" Bob last night and lost and you think you're being funny while at the same time taking a shot at those who supported the decision to play CMac last night?

Or do you really think Bob should not play tonight's game?

There's very little point in playing him tonight.
