How does it make sense for the Caps to play their star players? Sure, something can be said for setting the tone against a potential playoff opponent, but it's also pretty risky on their part as well.

Caps fan here. If I were Trotz and co, I wouldn't play any of our star players. In fact I would spot the Bruins 10 goals and then treat them to a night at the Kennedy Center afterwards. A Bruins win means we don't have to see them in the 1st round, and I would FAR rather play a team like Toronto or NYI in the first round.

I only hope Trotz and his staff see it like I do.

Just pointing out Ottawa is using Anderson today and they have two games to win one . If you are fine with a.k today I would assume that means your fine if he plays the odd playoff game .

I know some fans think you have to beat them all but for those of us who cherish every playoff win game or series and can dream of the bruins getting to the east final this game could be huge . I cant imagine the Jacobs will be thrilled if they go from a chance at a lot of playoff gates to like probably 2 . If this was 3 in 4 nights id get it but it isn't . I get A.K has played great of late and as long as he plays well today win or lose I will shut up but this is very weird to me. I just don't even see the rest benefit for rask even if leafs lose a game or we win today.
