GDT: Game #80: Utah HC @ Dallas - 6:00pm MST - Utah16, Arizona61

Nice meaningful win....... :naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty:
Now you are just being mean ;)

I do hope we win the season out to get BA the worst pick possible. Only way to help him with his lottery ticket addiction. First step is admitting you have a problem BA.

We have a chance to draft 17 ova.. I would be proud of the team if they can make it.

I actually agree, despite my smart ass comment the other day. They can learn more about the balance of attention to detail, while playing loose enough to be effective, from these last few games than what they would have being blown out in the playoffs.
Are you saying losing in four or five games in round one of the playoffs would be less of a learning experience than winning now out of the playoffs?:huh:

They can learn more than they would getting blown out, which is what would happen. The only playoff like games this team has had were the latest Lightning, Oiler and Flame games; we were blown out in two of the three and the third team (Flames) are not in, just like us.
I've no doubt you're scratching your head because you are looking at this from the typical, general consensus. Another general consensus was that a team didn't clear the puck against an opponent who pulled their goalie, until they had crossed the center line, thus preventing an icing. That is no longer the general consensus, and the game is better for it.
Mostly I'm tired of reading from those whining about missing the playoffs. I'm also tired of reading those who are certain they know the formula for a proper rebuild, when said formulas are wrong as often as they are right. I tire of those who proclaim, "this year they must make the playoffs", as if they have any say in what will happen should they not. So, yeah, considering the psyche of a player, considering this team is not ready and a host of other factors, I'll take the positive outlook because if nothing else, all the pissing and moaning in the world won't get them in the playoffs for a slaughter this season.

I think Jakey forgot about the time when we had to go 7 games against the Preds (and got lucky in the OT in game 7), only to get beat worse than a red-headed stepchild by the Avs the next round.

The back-to-back 7-1 blowout losses to close out that series were embarrassing for me as a fan. Can't imagine how embarrassed and demoralized the players may have felt.

I recall Chyrchrun's face at one point during the game where he looked absolutely shell shocked. Just standing there on the ice staring with a look that combined awe and disbelief. That image has stuck with me all this time lol.

That series seemed to hit everyone...... after the first 7-1 loss we all just knew the game after that was going to be ugly and it was.

I think you forgot, or more likely don't know, the importance of playoff experience. That is the goal of every player, team and organization, EVERY year.

And the players wouldn't trade that experience for anything.

I guess you forgot. ;)

Well there ya go Jakey..... thinking and guessing again.

Why do rebuilding teams go out and get a veteran or two with that experience?? Including maybe a couple that have their names on the Stanley Cup.
