It is if the Pens win.

IF the Pens win, then they are a point behind the Caps.

The Pens last 2 are at Columbus and home to Ottawa.

The Caps last 3 are at St Louis and home to Nashville and New Jersey.

IF the Pens win today, then the division is in play IMO.

Still an outside chance, but in play . . .

Who cares if they win the division?

What's the point?

Home ice? Caps have a history of playing terrible in game 7's at home, if it came down to it i'd rather play that game in Washington.

If that's the reason i don't like that either.

Murray played his best game in a long time last night.

Let him feel better about himself and gain some confidence.

These Pens Caps always have a lot of goals scored in them.

I don’t see Murray having confidence issues. He hasn’t been consistent with his Dad and injuries (and the team in front of course).

The last 2 games the defensive game has had more structure which certainly helps.

If home ice is very important to them they might want to start really pushing

Pens are capable of winning anywhere, but it would be great to win the division and start at least the first 2 rounds at home.

For sure. Not a "must have" but a "would like to have" situation. How different we are on the road vs. at home is pretty amazing. Consol became a place where our boys are hard to play against. Pretty impressive stuff.

Another thing about winning the division is that it makes playing NJ a higher possibility.

I'm not worried about NJ, but i know a lot of you are.

I do not like going Mur back to back. But I get it.

For as well as the Pens record suggests they've performed this month, the Pens haven't played a team with a better record since the game against Boston almost a month ago, and Murray hasn't played against a team with a better record than the Pens since mid February.

I'm sure the goalie who won back-to-back Cups as a rookie is just going to mentally fall apart because he played both games of a back-to-back where the team gets the next three days off.

Hopefully his mommy has his bibby ready for him after the game. :sarcasm:

I'd have him sitting on the bench in bubble wrap.

At least once a game he gets hit and ends up getting up slowly.

I think it was the first shift in yesterday's game he got hit.

Guess they shouldn't play him against teams that hit then, right? Okay, here's a list of teams the Penguins can play him against in that scenario:

Yeah same here. Let them build up that momentum. Because man they're horse shit on the road although less in 2018 than 2017. But why risk it.

He should be playing against both the Caps and Jackets. He can rest against the Sens.
He's missed a lot of games this season. I don't think he needs rest. What he needs is the defense in front of him to play better.

No, i thought he should of played yesterday, i would of played him one of the games in the next set of b2b as well.

Their has to be a balance of getting him ready and keeping him healthy.

Really makes the losses against Detroit and the Isles even tougher to swallow.

Actually, if the division is still up for grabs he may play against Ottawa too.

You do realize that OTT is tanking these last couple weeks..only won one game...they want a high percentage chance at Dahlin...they kept a lottery protected first in the Duchene deal and are waiting to make a decision....
