GDT: Game 80: Habs vs Leafs, April 12th, 7 PM | CBC, SN, TVAS

Are you familiar, at all, with jet lag?

How did you arrive at the conclusion that he's had a enough time to get over jet lag?

For a professional athlete, recovery from jet lag might look like:

  • Day 1–2: Groggy, wake up early, fatigue in late afternoon
  • Day 3–5: Adjusting, performance improves but not peak yet
  • Day 6–7: Circadian rhythm stabilizes, full performance returns

Kapanen practiced. And had played in the show. Demidov never has.

Kid is 19. 19.
I share your view on Demidov, it will take time till he adjusts to the NHL game. No one can convince me that the KHL has anything near the rough stuff and speed of the NHL. I would put it somewhere between the AHL and NHL, and we have all seen the adjustments AHL players go through.

With all that said, he could hit the ground running and produce right away, which would be great, but it's better to shelter him as much as possible and see how it goes.

I don't think I would play him with Laine and Newhook, but Evans might be the safest starting point.

The Leafs have a 40 goal scorer, two 30 goal scorers and three 20 goal scorers. Dobes isn't facing Nashville...This could be humiliating.
But, Habs have MM and David Savard... take that, Tyson!!!!

Lol, yeah... it will not be pretty. And honestly, I don't know what it take to have this team start the game on time. Like it's not an odd game here and there. It's every bloody game.

They have scored, what, 15 more goals than the Canadiens have this year?

I think you are grossly over-rating how scary this team is offensively. If their first or second line isn't on, you can basically pull your goaltender because their third and fourth lines couldn't put the puck into the ocean.

Demidov will play, just not tonight

Monday in front of the home crowd will be perfect.

As for tonight, ehhhh...not expecting a win. But we'll see.

I'd like to at least see a positive start.

Savard should definitely sit on a back to back.

Dobes will be busy tonight.

I flew from europe many a time... all I needed was a coke and a nap and I was good to go. And I can guarantee I was not in the same type of shape as Demidov or any of these guys... (well, maybe except Savard)

And I can guarantee that what you were "good to go" and do was not physically compete at the highest possible level against the best hockey players on the planet.
