Prior to the last 2 seasons, just making the playoffs seemed a given; we were spoiled.

So what a great feeling tonight, having learned the hard way that nothing in this league is a given.

It was great seeing the team's jubilation after the win; both goalies have been great, and contributions are finally coming from up and down the lineup.

No time to take the foot off the gas - I can't see Washington losing in the first round so getting in the Atlantic bracket is preferable.

Well done Bruins. Couldn't find a video feed so listened to the game in the UK (3am)! Our luck is still holding. This could go all the way!:yo:

Will the NHL look to suspend brad ?

Out of curiosity, has any player been suspended for that? I recall several fines but not suspensions. If he misses the last 2 games, what a price for his potential of 40 goals that will be.

Is that Pandolfo shaking Cassidy's hand?

I thought he was still in the "eye in the sky" coaching role, never thinking he moved down once Claude was fired.

Do they even have a coach watching from up above now?

Oh man, this is why i stay up late so many nights.

Nothing like seeing happy Zdeno and Krug standing next to him. What a great bunch.

lost in this game was the awesome game Dmoore played filling in for Marchand.

He looked good with Bergeron. Amazing PK as well.

The guy is such a good player out there

Brad Marchand spear to Jake Dotchin's groin under review by NHL Player Safety Dept, per source. Don't think he's getting away w/just a fine According to haggs

how is that considered a spear??
Marsh clearly had an upward motion. Spears are forward motion. when did they start calling nutshots spears??

David Pastrnak needed stitches to close a wound on his left cheek after being checked into the glass by Victor Hedman. “Hopefully it makes me look a little tougher,†Pastrnak cracked . . .

Anything where the primary point of contact is the tip of the stick is a spear. Stop justifying. Don't defend this. It was a spear to the junk. It was dirty, it was deliberate, it was undisciplined, and . . . it has never been anything more than a fine before.

Get ready for that to change. He's sitting for a couple. Bank on it.

Meanwhile, Crosby ruined a guy's finger and speared someone's package and sees nothing. Welcome to the DoPS.

“Extremely gratifying,†Cassidy said of earning a postseason bid after replacing Claude Julien. “It’s not the circumstance that anybody wants to draw up. But it happened. You go to work, try to get the team where it needs to be, do the things that you feel are necessary to continue to get better. I thought we’ve done that. This is the first step. We’ll see where it goes from here.â€

“It feels great,†goaltender Tuukka Rask said. “The city deserves it. The organization deserves it. We feel we deserve it, too. We worked hard all year to secure a spot. It took 80 games. It’s a good feeling. I think everybody can breathe a little easier now. But we’ve still got two games left and then the real games start. Great accomplishment.â€

“This one feels pretty special,†David Krejci said. “We fought hard. It was an up-and-down year, but we got the job done. I thought we played really well the last 20 or so games. So it feels really good.â€

never knew that was considered a spear. Thought it had to be a jabbing motion.
I agree that he's getting 2 games

he`s earned what I believe he`ll get, 2 games

If this were a Bruin player taking that shot, my opinion is every fan on here wouldn`t be so lenient and understanding about the situation as some seem to be with Marchand

The guy has a history and it`s not on his side.

Super happy our boys made it back to the playoffs, super pi**** at Marchand as I believe these last games are vital to position themselves in the standings. Absolutely no need for him to do that in such a big game last night.

There`s playing on the edge and playing stupid, I think it`s obvious where I stand on where Marchand stood last night

Spooner played the kind of game that only makes me more frustrated with him at other times. Hard on the puck, assertive, played as physical as I think he can and actually won some faceoffs:amazed:

I would like to see more of that

If only we could get that version of Spooner even 75% of the time. Defensively that might of been his strongest game as a Bruin.

agreed, no player has "it" for 82 games, but as you said, if this was the effort 75%, I`d feel different about things.

Just spitballin` here but wondering if the signing of JFK maybe lit a fire under him?

Such a complete team effort, Machand antics aside. The Cassidy influence was unmistakeable. Shutter to think how it may have played out otherwise. PLAYOFFS BABY!

Though the first Pasta goal died on Nash's stick when he was slow in reading the play but he recovered quickly enough to find him in front. Such a huge goal. What a deft touch by Krug on the feed to Big Z who hammered it.

As for 63, a selfish play that could have cost them the chance to secure their spot. Every time you want to believe he has finally gotten past these idiotic plays it resurfaces. He will deservingly be suspended. It may still cost the team 2nd or 3rd spot. To state the obvious, PK picked him up. To a man they were not going to be denied.

Still some unfinished business to take care of. A refocus of sorts as they get ready for the Sens.

The only upshot for the likely Marchand suspension is I see him coming back with fire in his eyes and I expect him to be great in the playoffs. This happened last year when he returned from his suspension.

I guess so, doesn`t discount the fact that if a suspension comes, IMO, these last two games are still exceptionally important and he`s got to be a leader

Have I seen worse infractions than this? He** yes, but we know the double standard in this league, different playing fields for different players and he`s got a history and reputation that just aren`t on his side.

He admitted it was undisciplined and it "might" work out on his side that he was already given the game misconduct and the player didn`t suffer long term injury

Great Effort and not sure what made Brad spear the guy in the Nuts but was it done on purpose? Loved the guys blocking Shots especially Quaider guy tough as nails.
Yes it was nice to see the big guys stepping up Hopefully DK has got his playoff legs and Big Z has played some very good hockey and maybe over the next two game his Mins should be lowered. But I agree one of the best Moves is bringing in Dom Moore.
