Kravtsov actually played OK last game. I don't really know what else he was supposed to do. If he's getting scratched like this in favor of Gauthier and we're keeping Reaves in the lineup that's not a great sign for him.

Yea but Shesterkin often looks human against the Isles while Sorokin makes SOTY saves against us routinely.

At least Chris broke tradition and gave us a little rollercoaster ride by saving his career year for AFTER signing the obvious future albatross contract.

Meh. 6.5 million is a fair contract for a 1B/2A forward, and by the end of his contract I still don't see him anywhere below the 2nd line and 25-30 goals if he plays on the PP. Hardly an albatross.

the same reason all Islanders goalies have put up insane numbers the last 4 years- their horribly boring defensive system makes it hard to score and we especially struggle against super defensive teams.

Is he? And I'm not talking about skill, but does he fit the mold of what we need for a backup goalie?

Frankly, with a goalie of Shestys caliber, I'm doubtful a growing goalie prospect is a good answer. We kinda saw it with Georgiev. Halak is the perfect type, a guy who has made a career of being a backup in the NHL.

Nope, McKegger could be scratched, demoted. Glass was there, at least until they thought they may lose a playoff series cause of him, he was like Reaves is now.

yeah, we had a winning record with Georgie in net last year too. Thats what backups are for, you start them in the "easier" games and hope your team can pick up the slack. So far we haven't been able to.

And that has been on the players mostly. Yeah, Halak gave up some horrible goals aganist CBJ, but we only scored 1. Freaking 1 goal against the Jackets.
