Hoffman..:help::help:

If they want to get Dvorak going they need to put the Drouin - Dvorak - Anderson line back together. Dvorak needs a playmaker on his line.

Suzuki - Caufield
Monahan - Dach
Drouin - Dvorak
Pitlick - Evans

Gives you a playmaker on each line. Then add the mis-fits: Hoffman, Gallagher, Anderson & Dadonov. They're almost interchangeable with the exception of powerhorse.

Hoffman moved to that spot at the request of the Ducks? :sarcasm: Ducks looking for a shooter on wing to play with Zegras? Cost to acquire might be low and they might do this.

Or Hughes is asking for more than what the Ducks prefer and Hughes said... I'll play him with Suzuki/Caufield to show you he can still score.

Who were the Ducks scouting in the last game? My money is on Hoffman.

LOL Hoffman gets promoted to 1st line after one of his worst games ever

I suuuuuure hope MSL was "told" to do this to showcase him cuz man..

Very possible and I hope so.

However, the other part of me says he is getting a promotion cause he has been playing better of late and Dach would surely get some help with Monahan on his line.

UFA's: Drouin, Dadonov, Byron, Monahan. A total of $20.275M I believe. Caufield is getting $8M of that (+/-). Harris might get a raise but nothing substantial.

* Dvorak has 2 more years left after this season
* Hoffman has 1 more year left after this season
* Savard has 2 more years left after this season
* Eddy has 1 more year left after this season

I feel Savard and Eddy need to stay to keep the D surviving. If we trade Dvorak, not sure Dach is ready for 2C full time role. So if Dvorak is traded, we might need a stop gap center? Not sure... might be best to keep Dvorak unless some team calls and offers something we can't refuse.

Hoffman is the one we should be trying to unload. I think that happens this season. Our cap space issues will be unblocked but only after this season.
Bet you the Ducks are looking at him.
Highly speculative and too far away to know for certain but I believe Beck will arrive sooner than anticipated and could assume a middle six/ top six role given the maturity in his game.

Also, a Dubois acquisition/ signing can’t be completely discounted.

I hope its not the Ducks! They look like crap and we don't need them looking any crappier at this point. Send him to a contender. Send him to the moon. Send him anywhere!

I’d like to see Pezzetta getting reps, by rotating with some of the deadwood.

Things we will learn more about this season.

I would not bank on Beck being in the NHL next season. Looks like we might have a steal but even Point started lower on Tampa's line-up in his 1st season and I believe that was his age 20 season correct? Played 2 CHL seasons after his draft year.

Dubois sign/trade is likely IMO. That's how the Jets get their trade value. Otherwise, other GM's will hesitate on trading for him for one season, then UFA. Pretty sure Dubois wants to play for the Habs and sooner rather than later. Not impossible he doesn't consider other teams in the sign/trade but I think his 1st choice is coming home.

Yup! Time for Dadonov to sit a game.

I don't have tank fever yet. Maybe I'll catch it in Nov/Dec ;)

Banking on Beck, well can we really know for certain about any minor leaguer except the high pedigree ones and even then? There is always a risk component.

Hence, I used a caveat, however, Beck’s cerebral approach and complete game at centre has me thinking he may be one of the exceptions that can transition to the NHL game sooner than other comparables of his age. It’ll make it easier to deal with Dach should his game at centre not evolve as hoped for.

Major experiment with the Hoff playing on the first line but maybe MSL saw something at practice.

Getting Monahan back on a line with Dach has to be a good thing.

I like Monahan with Dach.

Hoffman the last two games has a total of 9 SOG while playing on the 4th line with Evans and Pitlick. Maybe MSL saw that and felt that because he's shooting more, putting him with two more talented guys like Suzuki and Caufield will help bring more offense out of him.

When is Hurtlotský back? Do we got another fragile player on our hands here? I used to fall out of moving vehicles at 18, bounce off the road, goto work the the next day and still party the next night. Wussy

One of our deadweight needs to step up. This is a big opportunity for Hoffman to turn things around playing with Cauli-field and Suzuki.

I thought he had a decent game against Minnesota and hopefully he can build some momentum.

Hopefully Drou-Drou can seize his opportunity also playing with Kirby and Money Hands Monahan.

The thing I like about Hoffman there is, if he doesn't perform well there, well maybe he gets sent to Laval...

I also like that Monahan is with Dach...

And, Drouin getting. A chance in the top 6 is a last chance to increase his trade value by the trade deadline. I would be interested to see what he could do with Suzuki and Caufield.

Drouin and Dadonov are gone at the end of the year, so their minutes don't matter, as it's not likely someone will ever give us a high pick for either anyway.

Hoffman has an extra year left so we're likely going to do everything possible to make him movable by the offseason. Burying him in Laval for two seasons would be a mess.

Yup, they will have more energy coming into this game. My gut tells me there will be lots of goals in this game. Sabres have a young roster as well and I expect the kids to really battle each other from both sides.

5-3 Habs.
I was at that crazy game against Buffalo a couple of seasons ago when Risto***** scored in OT. I think we had something like 9 goals in the first period.

exited to see Dahlin and Power play havent see much of them to be honnest

Dahlin is starting to shine and develop into what we believe on draft day... via Hedman type development road.

With Power, it's hard to say. So far, he's not much of a hitter. 0.88/60 is very low for someone his size. Blocks, Giveaways, and Takeaways are decent.

Sabre fan, stopping by to ask how Gallagher is after his speed wobble into the end boards a few games back?

Also, with the way the Sabres have leaked breakaways and odd-man rushes, I would lay money on Suzuki and Caufield scoring tonight if I were a betting man.

He tried him there last season it was a disaster. One of the only things I'm interested is a PPG season for Nick and 40 for Cole. I wan't Suzuki play-making not doing the grunt work his wingers can't or won't do.
