As long as it's not boring like last game i'll be ok with the result... Oh and another goal from one of our only 2 goal scorer.

Rookie Dman with the lowest TOI on the Dsquad is our 4th best point producer. Can't wait for the rebuild to continue, trade deadline can't come soon enough.

This is the only remote chance the Habs have.
Disagree. I think BUF is improving but far from stellar. Samuelson is injured, so they have one star D, one young very promising rookie and 4 bottom pair Dmen. They have talent upfront for sure but this is a very young team which got destroyed in SEA (not the best team in the league).

BUF should be better but the difference is not that big.

Not sure if Habs will lose all the deadwood at TDL but hopefully after the end of the season. So who do we got and how much cap space is that going to free up? Which of the glorious vets are NOT under contract after this season?

Yep, Wideman’s last power play goal was October of 2017. Drouin’s last was October of 2019.
the best part is MSL and AB panic to get him and those PP Skillz on the PP. Must be for his awesome drop pass.

That's what I've been saying, burrows sucks no doubt but the glaring lack of offensive options on this team is huge !!!

Hoffman..:help::help:

The thing I like about Hoffman there is, if he doesn't perform well there, well maybe he gets sent to Laval...

I also like that Monahan is with Dach...

And, Drouin getting. A chance in the top 6 is a last chance to increase his trade value by the trade deadline. I would be interested to see what he could do with Suzuki and Caufield.

Sad...............Drouin and Hoff in the top 6
They have no trade value FFS....
Stupid....I know they are trying to lose, and thats fine, at least give us some entertainment....Drouin would make #99 a 40 pt player.

and if we want Bedard we add Hoffman to that line
Screw Bedard, I'll be happy if we get Fantilli instead and will settle for Dvorsky otherwise. Having an eventual National line of Slafkovsky - Dvorsky - Mesar could yield good results ;)

Seriously, there are other good picks when looking at the 2023 draft for a potential top-6 pivot. Thankfully, it's not Bedard or bust and I don't think the difference in impact between Bedard and Fantilli will be that great. Different types of players, but comparable impacts, in the end, IMO.

Bedard will drive play, but so will Fantilli as a Power Forward C with hands in tight as well. If I was picking for Montreal -- with Suzuki as a confirmed top-6 c already -- I'd pick the larger, physical C with skill over the smaller, less physical C with skill. It wouldn't be picking for a positional need, because both are Cs, but it would be picking for the complementary makeup of your team's roster.

As much size with skill as possible won't hurt the Habs and their eventual playoff hopes when they start contending again.

Are you serious, or are you just projecting what you hope is happening?

UFA's: Drouin, Dadonov, Byron, Monahan. A total of $20.275M I believe. Caufield is getting $8M of that (+/-). Harris might get a raise but nothing substantial.

* Dvorak has 2 more years left after this season
* Hoffman has 1 more year left after this season
* Savard has 2 more years left after this season
* Eddy has 1 more year left after this season

I feel Savard and Eddy need to stay to keep the D surviving. If we trade Dvorak, not sure Dach is ready for 2C full time role. So if Dvorak is traded, we might need a stop gap center? Not sure... might be best to keep Dvorak unless some team calls and offers something we can't refuse.

Hoffman is the one we should be trying to unload. I think that happens this season. Our cap space issues will be unblocked but only after this season.

Hoffman played good last two games and showed heart… but it doesn’t fit « the narrative » so let’s just skip over it han lol

Bet you the Ducks are looking at him.

Burrows deserves some criticism but folks need to also look at what he has to work with. Wideman QB on the 1st wave?
As we saw from a recent Athletic piece posted in another thread, MSL has been running the PP on his own, without Burrows.

Burrows is off the hook. He got demoted to a puck retriever role during practises and to hairpiece model duties behind the bench, by sporting questionable raccoon fur inspired stylings.
