The Pezz look is killer, but he didn't kill his teams chances of a playoff series like Meth Flanders did with his spazz.

He also didn't triple down by never claiming to be at fault and going on to make adverts that mocked the whole thing.

So still Meth "the sociopath" Flanders for me. :thumbu:

It sucks he's good at hockey because he deserves to be begging for change from the crack of Satan's ass, but that's just my views.

Do Habs have a clear starting goalie or is it basically win and you play.

They don't have a clear starter. Montembeault's play last year muddied the picture in that he played better than Allen. Before that, Allen was the #1.

Now they have already ran three goalies in the first seven games, and theres no definitive answer which way they are going, although I think it has generally been assumed around here that Monty would have the opportunity to get more starts than Jake. He's the younger guy, and at least shows some promise, so it only makes sense for a team in rebuild mode.

Also, Allen's track record is that he's better when playing the work load of a backup.

Yeah, I think when Allen was initially acquired by Montreal, the idea was for him to give relief to Price who was probably already having knee problems. Allen was coming off a good year and was probably scheduled to handle somewhere between 40-45% of the starts to keep price sustainable.

It's a totally different picture now.

I know our rebuilding, Dach-less team is capable of a dud any night.

But after Thursday's game, man am I excited to see this team play. Thursday night was a hockey game (if only because it was between two evenly matched teams, as in evenly weak).

It seems like since Price went down, Allen wanted to secure his spot on a NHL roster and jumped at the chance to be the sort of caretaker 1G while we develop the real successor to Price (TBD). Having Monty and Primeau is decent depth but we of course haven't seen either completely relegate Allen to backup status. I think we'll see either Primeau or Allen dealt, but it will depend on whether we trade with a contender or a rebuild team

It's different. But he's still a great backup, and can be used to backup an up an coming young goalie. We just have to find that up and comer. I think Montembault will be given the opportunity to take the number 1 spot. He just won't be given the spot after a preseason like he had.

I still think of Allen as a capable 1b. He can be a mixed bag but he can still absorb more starts than the conventional backup, and it's that mixed bag that prevents him from being a viable true #1

Armia will score one tonight , will then disappear for the next 8 games and will be sent back to the AHL where he belong.

I would take Allen over either Edmonton or LA goalies though.

Wild stats

The thing is, we've had a light schedule to start the year. So these stats don't mean much to me in terms of telling me how good or bad we are compared to the rest of the league. They do say how good or bad we were in the first 7 games, irrespective of competition, compared to the rest of the leafue.

Of course we don’t cover anywhere in our zone, our D just skate backwards until they almost hit the G’s and then start to “defend”. We have no D system, let’s be honest.

That’s fine by itself, it does lend to more freedom, but man o man do we give up our whole D zone like it’s candy.

I still can't believe we are not in da playoffs. Today's game is crucial. It's a 4 point game. A measuring stick game. The game where team has to give 200%. Nos excuses!!!

Nothing against Armia back in the line up, at this point he’s a better option than others.

Just sad that it comes at the expense of Ylonen. He did everything he had to do on the fourth line and more.

Disappointed with that decision, someone else should have been out.
