Yeah i know, which shows how elite of a player he is. But I think we can all agree something is off with him. You can tell with his skating.

Only worried about a lingering injury...other than that, he will be fine in the playoffs
yeah it'd be nice for him to be better away from the puck. But I'd take this over him looking more engaged but not scoring.

for what it's worth, "this bad" is still 15 points in the last 14 games.

And? For all those points, he's a -3 . . . and he's a big reason he's a -3.

I'm watching HMK tonight. He's doing NOTHING defensively. It's Malkin and Hagelin killing a penalty most of the time.

Dare I say...but I’m going to have to retract my previous statement on Hunwick...he’s playing well so far tonight...hope I don’t jinx him...

thsi team is weird, last game 6 and 22 tandem was a freak show, scary to watch, tonight, they look really good..wtf.

I simply do not get it.

A hallmark of the Pens under Sullivan is everyone on the same page. Including call ups.

Crisp precise short passes to break an aggressive forecheck often leading to an odd man rush the other way.

The players are mostly the same.

But most, including their top players, completely forgot how to play.

They honestly look tentative, over thinking. They cheat up ice more than Ovechkin. They are more tentative and clueless than a virgin on her wedding night.

Protected matchups against Montreal are just what the doctor ordered for Hunwick.

I think it’s more saving themselves. They know what awaits.

Its not we hate Phil, we love Phil, so when people bring points, its just weird, I mean the main problem is that he makes his line ineffective, since he stopped skating, thats the main problem, no one doubts he can still score and what not, but you need three guys to effectively keep the puck in o-zone and set some plays...

I'll finish the job for you. He looks physical, he looks smart. He looks like the dman we hoped we were getting, rather than the poor man's version of Ruhwedel he's oft been.

you're gonna stand your ground on +/-?

Look, Phil Kessel does this every single year of his career. Sometimes for a full season. The guy takes chunks of every single season off. He always has, and he always will. When the rest of the team took the first three months off, Phil carried us. Now it's his turn. He's never done it in the playoffs though. When he's dogging it in a game that matters I'll worry.

this exact same argument happens every year with Kessel though. Every year. It goes back to Boston. This is who he is. He's going to take chunks of the regular season off. It's just going to happen.

Probably easier for the top players to focus on the details when they had something to prove.. and when they had actual offseasons recently.

Hall has the same number of points as Kopitar.

Honestly, McKinnon is #1 for MVP if Colorado makes it. If not, I think Hall, but Kopitar is right there too.

Forget Malkin and Kucherov. Both had to win the scoring race.

Giroux? Maybe #4.

McDavid? Not with that team not making the playoffs.

Kopitar is the best defensive player in the game along with bergeron. So it's more than Points with him and he plays with Dustin brown and Alex Iaffolo..him having 90 points is amazing.

And McDavid should be ahead of Hall in the MVP voting. He is more valuable.

Watch them come out and sweep their way to a Cup, what a mind**** this season would be if they turn into a different team in the playoffs. I want it to happen, I still have hope, but damn boys. It's getting close.

They show glimpses of it in games lately and just try to do enough to win. Knowing what they can do in the playoffs is obviously a big help and Sully sends the right messages.

I’d say Jersey would disagree in terms of importance to their teams this season.
