GDT: Game 79: KINGS @ CANUCKS, Saturday 4/5/14 @ 7:00PM PDT

Don't know what to think about tonight. On one hand, maybe all the nasty is out of the system since the last circus and both teams having little to play for. On the other, Kings-Canucks hate each other, and maybe they get up for one another regardless while the Canucks scrap for their playoff lives.

Either way, I hope it's injury-free, but I have a bad feeling about the chippiness in this one.

And I guarantee at least two threads about Kings plays that are non-incidents or we are cowards for 'not answering the bell' when there's no bell to answer. Likely started by fans of teams not playing the game.
 
****! I just realized that we San Diego fans of the Kings are screwed tonight -- we don't get Prime, and Fox Sports San Diego isn't picking up the feed like they sometimes do. *grumble grumble grumble*

On Drew Doughty’s status:
He’s day-to-day. We have lots of guys who are day-to-day. [Reporter: So does that make him a game-time decision for tonight?] That makes it none of your business. That’s a fact. Why do you want to act that question in April? You could ask it in October and you’d get the same answer. So why would you ask it in April?

On Dwight King’s status:
He’s day-to-day. You know what? We don’t play ‘til Wednesday or Thuesday, and we just finished 10-in-17. You know what? We’ll try and get everybody ready for Wednesday.

Likely Andrew Campbell makes his NHL debut tonight. Six years with Manchester. Talked about having a "shiver" when Darryl said he'd be in.

So happy for Campbell :)

Looks like the folks who wanted our team to rest people down the stretch may be getting their wish albeit in a roundabout way.

Good for Campbell, the dude definitely deserves it. Also glad we are keeping Drew out tonight, no reason to risk further injury in a meaningless game.

6 years? wow.
 
I used to love the rivalry because it was gritty but like swatting a mosquito. Last game it progressed to swatting bees. Just stay healthy. This is the last meaningful game Van will play this season so that scares me a little, especially with Torts back there pinching butts.
