A win tonight and a Rangers loss against the Canes would put us 2 points behind NYR with a game in hand. Home ice in the first round is still a possibility ;)

How has Greiss been playing? Seem to remember him being pretty decent when he played for the Sharks. Need to play with a lot more discipline than Sunday. Phoenix isn't an AHL team like the Islanders.

#CBJ Corey Tropp will play tonight. Matt Frattin is out. Only lineup decision is whether Jared Boll or Jack Skille will draw in on 4th line.

St. Skille plz

Also, the Coyotes are a veteran and very desperate team right now. This game is by no means a gimmie, it will be an ugly affair.

As far as Horton goes, I would guess that he has a groin or hamstring bothering him, maybe a hip pointer. He most likely isn't 100% after only four games off. If he has an ankle sprain or knee, he would be less effective.

The question is, is a Horton that's less than 100% better than say a Frattin or a Tropp at 100%?

You are going to get the haters that say no to your 2nd question. I will say that Horton will have a better chance of putting the puck in the net and will draw attention.

As far as the 100% question; he's not going to be 100% this season and into the playoff's (shoulder at a minimum). You work with what you got. We have nothing to work with on his lower body than to watch and see. They haven't said much and won't at this time of the season. Speculation onto his lower body issue wont' be productive.

I would focus more on the game than our obsession with a player that we know isn't 100% and we know isn't going to be anytime soon. They are going to play him if they can. I would.

Don't underestimate the Martin Erat curse.

He is a 1.25 PPG player vs the CBJ this year and a .34 PPG player vs the rest of the league.

For his career he has a PPG of .95 vs CBJ and .61 PPG against the rest of the league.

He is the Captain of the CBJ killer team. He is pretty much guaranteed to get a point.

Pretty sure we got tonight's game in the bag thanks to the "#5th Line"

lolz...

anyway, I think we will win tonight but am worried about Shane Doan and his dirty antics trying to headshot Joey after he scores or something

Too bad Gaborik isn't here to protect him!

Well, we could certainly use Gaborik as he continues to ride a point streak as opposed to Frattin who is starting a new press box streak....

Now...let's keep eye on teams ahead of us in the standing instead of looking over our shoulders:nod:
I hope there's a great walk-up crowd. Team deserves a nice final regular season home game crowd (but not a sell-out...we know how those go).

This. Let's win 4 of 4 and put the heat on Philly.

Jarmo took Frattin as a body to fill out the year. The trade was for a second round pick. Gaborik could score 100 goals for LA, wouldn't change the fact that he didn't do anything here. Get over it.

Your "elite sniper" has 3 goals in 16 games for LAK....even more futile than he was here.

And 8 assists....11 pts in 16 games is far from a pt per game player...I could play for LA and get 8 assists standing in front of the net...

And his 3 goals were against non-playoff teams, proving what I said all year about him, he doesn't show up against the big boy teams. He scored against Wash, Tor and Phoe! Good riddance

Gaborik did more, and could do more, than Frattin.

And the picks are basically throwaways and won't have impact on the Jackets making the playoffs this year, next, or most likely even the year after when we are in a clear window of contention.

So no, I will not get over it.

...but at least we have the 5th line. ;)

No it's correct. We haven't won consecutive games since March 8/11. What does our 8 game winning streak in January have to do with that?

Perhaps we have a different definition of the word consecutive? :help:

Oh wait, does March 8/11 mean March 8th and 11th? When I ready March 8/11, I read it as March 8, 2011. LOL

You know, I usually don't agree with IHZ but I'm completely on his side here. We gave up a good Top 6 winger for a piece that may or may not help us 5+ years from now, and we don't have any player who can bring his skill and smarts to the table. Richards flat out has a lesser hand to work with come playoff time, and no team that can only score one way go far. Not that Gaborik is the difference between a 1st round sweep and the Stanley Cup, but he'll probably be the difference between a 1st round sweep and a hard-fought series (or two) .

Well i agree with you Gaborik will do more than Frattin, but I will not agree that they are throwaway picks, Boone Jenner was a 2nd round pick. It's not going to help us this year, but we are building for the future with the youngest team and he got what he could for an expensive, aging, injury prone ex-sniper and got, what could turn out to be a nice piece of the championship picture in 4-5 years.
