Poitras will not be on this roster next year.

I didn't realize that he played Center until last night when he was taking a faceoff in the third period.
He seems like a really well rounded player, this is only the beginning for him IMO. Kudos for Sweeney and his scouts to target him in the trade. Not to mention the rest of the return for Brando!

Give Sweeney props big time at this deadline, and hopefully there's more to come, and the Carlo for Minten plus a first or the Coyle for a package which included Zellers can be the Pederson for Neely plus a first or the Wesley for 3 first, Hodge for Middleton type of deal that helps this Bruin franchise moving forward in a big way! This teams needs one!

NJ was w\o J Hughes and Hamilton. After they went down 5-2 they quit. The pre deadline Bruins with McAvoy and Lindholm absolutely would beat that team we saw last night in a PO series, which shows you how thin the NHL is when true top 4D and top 6F are injured.

I would like you to be right, but I would not bet on it. Being a good kid has nothing to do with it, and I know he is young, but highly overrated in this town.

Part of bring a "good kid" can include being coachable and having a strong work ethic. That does count in a young players development. If Carter Hart was a good kid, he would still be playing.

Yeah Minten and Lysell both looked good on TV too. Feels like Lysell is starting to work out where he can use his speed and agility effectively at this level, he's getting on more pucks and the confidence is gradually growing. Starting to look a little more willing to get physical too. Still don't know if he is an NHLer but there are enough glimpses to say there is something to at least work with. I think he needs a goal or two and then we might see more of a break out from him.

And Minten is just very mature for one so young. Calm, sees the ice well, decent hands. Give him some time and I think he will settle nicely into a good groove. Very useful addition for us.

As for next year, well we will have to see how camp goes. Spots have to be earned, but there should be a lean towards youth and if deserved I hope both get a decent chance to make their case.

Funny thing, the Mittelstadt line got hemmed in some,. but he, Lysell and Zacha were like the Harlem Globetrotters on some occasions. The issue was none seemed to want to shoot haha, I think they had less than 5 shots as a group.

My issue with Mittellstadt and Lysell is they get worked on the boards too easily in both ends of the ice. Middlestadt would really benefit from having Marchand on his LW
and a Geekie type (Knies) on his RW, but especially Marchand.

Mittelstadt = Gomer Pyle

Marchand = Sgt. Carter

Ha!

Yeah the one thing I noticed about this one game is they both tried to dipsy doodle with the puck along the boards instead of grinding it out. Lysell needs to learn more of that, and Mittelstadt at this point is just never going to do it I would guess.

I am wondering that myself and where he fits. I think it would be a mistake, but they have a lot of distributors all of a sudden. Pass first guys. Pasta can do both, Geekie is a shot first guy and thats about it.

Why do we need to turn Lysell into someone who grinds it along the boards? How about going and beating people and putting them on their heels like last night?

A significant part of the sport is played on the wall. If you completely suck at winning board battles you will be chasing the puck the majority of the game which does nothing for your skills advantage. Its the reason you hate Mittelstadt.
