Post-Game Talk: GAME 79 - BRUINS 7 Newark 2

Minten seems to be the odds on favorite to be the 3rd line center. We'll see how camp shakes out - Poitras is a competitive kid and will make a push. It's good to have young options with promise.
It won’t surprise me to see Minten as the third line center. He looks good.

Perhaps Poitras can contribute on right wing.

The AHL playoffs will help Bruins management assess roster fit for next season.

I missed the game but glad to see the new guy Minten scored a goal scorers goal.

Saturday on Ty Andersons hockey show I forget who he had on (I was putting up new curtains) but they were saying that Toronto was cringing giving up/trading Minten.

@Aussie Bruin I actually was flipped off for waving from my ivory tower at some Devils fans leaving mid third.

This was I'm guessing between my 50th and 60th live Bruins game (having three teams within an hours drive is quite beneficial) and this was one of the most enjoyable ones I have seen

Not sure how Minten and Lysell have looked live, but last night they looked like lock NHL'ers. I implore the Bruins to have them both in the opening night lineup and let them have a full look.

Can't remember the last time I saw 7 goals scored or 3 unassisted goals. You could tell early the team and Swayman can to play. Devils are a mess. They have some bad injuries but at this point look like an easy out for Carolina

One suggestion, if you have not seen Pastrnak live, do so. It's almost comical how he's just on a different level, The only other guy right now I pay to see live is McDavid, but he is right up there.

One guy I target this offseason is Simon Nemec Constantly in the doghouse here and with them have Dougie, Pesce and Kovacevic long term, he should be a target. The owner of the box said he's still good and loves him but has fallen out of favor. Seamus Casey seems to have passed him as well.

Minten looks so young. Seems like a nice kid
He reminds me of Tom Fergus when he made the team as a 19 year old. Looks like he should bagging groceries at Stop and Shop. He laid out a couple nice hits and then flicks a wicked wrister top shelf.
Johnny Peirson is showing a replay up in Heaven showing the youngsters how to roll the wrists right now.

Looks like Geekie may have gotten the Puck from his 30th goal. I would of liked to seen him making sure Pasta got it thou, as it was Pasta's 100 point of the season a long with it being his third consective year of 100 points something that had never done before by a Czech born player. In the end thou it truly shows what a Great leader Pasta has become! Give him the C now!!

I got the solution. Cut it in half

Love it.

Yeah Minten and Lysell both looked good on TV too. Feels like Lysell is starting to work out where he can use his speed and agility effectively at this level, he's getting on more pucks and the confidence is gradually growing. Starting to look a little more willing to get physical too. Still don't know if he is an NHLer but there are enough glimpses to say there is something to at least work with. I think he needs a goal or two and then we might see more of a break out from him.

And Minten is just very mature for one so young. Calm, sees the ice well, decent hands. Give him some time and I think he will settle nicely into a good groove. Very useful addition for us.

As for next year, well we will have to see how camp goes. Spots have to be earned, but there should be a lean towards youth and if deserved I hope both get a decent chance to make their case.

Adam Pellerin (paraphrasing) "You've reached the 100 pt season 3 years in a row, only Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito have done it more, what's that mean to you?"
Pasta looked pissed off IMO after that and at the end of the interview, as he turned around and said "thank you" after.
IMO looked a bit a bit miffed at the way the question was posed.
I believe winning the game is more important to Pasta.

I am sure he is very disappointed because they won't be in the playoffs.

Also, He misses his friends who left. He is quite close to the ones who are gone having played with them for a long time. Bs lost most of the leadership.

Thanks for the update from being live at the game. I love your observation about Pasta and totally agree. Plus, you see what a leader he is. I would say the same for Marchy...seeing him play live is amazing.

I am happy you had a blast!
