You're correct. I was referencing 91-92, but the 3 you named did it in 92-93.

Neil Smith is so lucky we won in '94. The young talent he traded (gave) away still irks me.
He was a lackey to Keenan and Messier ultimately.

Nah, you do what’s best for the team. Want to make an argument Laf would improve the top PP fine, but putting him there just to do it isn’t how they should be deciding things.
I would do it to reward him for his play. He's killing it. Give him a treat. Our PP is great, but there are players on there that aren't playing nearly as well as Laf this season. For me this isn't about just throwing him there to give him more points, he deserves it.

Kreider-Wennberg-Vesey
Cuylle-Zibanejad-Kakko

Can we at least try it for a game before the playoffs?

But there’s no guarantee it makes their PP better, so reward him but it might not help overall.

Ok, I think that's why most people do, but I'll take your word for it.

Why then? Why are we changing something we're good at?
I would just want to reward the kid. That's 100% my reasoning.

Our PP is great, but show him that he's special to the team. I honestly think switching him with someone like Zib who has really not played his best hockey this year wouldn't be a bad idea. Our PP1 would still be great and we're rewarding a kid who is busting his ass.

It's a little late in the game to change it now, yes, but I would like to see how Laf does in Zob's spot just reversed. I know it probably won't ever happen, but as of late, Z's only good for fostering passes on the PP, cycling, and helping clear the puck by one-timing it wide or wasting seconds by one-timing it when everyone knows it's coming anyway.

I agree, but I think our PP1 would still be great with Laf on it. This season I just find myself aggravated with the way Zib is playing and elated with the way Laf is playing. I want him to get rewarded.

Rewards are for training a puppy. You put the best lineup on the ice.

If Lafreniere were great on the powerplay, then sure. No reason not to try.

Laf is one of the least productive powerplay players literally ever. His p/60 on the powerplay isn't much higher than it is at even strength.

If somebody on our first unit died tomorrow, I would promote Gustafsson.

If You think Zib is playing better out there than Laf, great. I don't. Just my opinion. My argument would be switching them is the best lineup. Laf is a young player playing out of his mind. Zib is a vet who seems to be phoning it in most nights.

But I did expect people to disagree with me so I'm not shocked there. We have a good PP1. I'm not banging my head against the wall wanting that to change. I'm content. But I do think we should reward him.

And he's OUR puppy. You dick.

If Rangers ever bring out a book on this season they should title it "The Hard Way"....

Trouba just skating around the offensive zone because he knows no one wants to pass him the puck
