I was actually at this game many moons ago.

games against the isles feel as long as a gd cricket match, have a soccer score, and we somehow always lose....on to boston

He has but never did much in any of them. The one time he was coach when the Caps won they had an absolutely STACKED team.
I hate the Islanders but Trotz is a good coach. He did win the cup and he did just go to 2 straight conference finals. He generally gets the most out of the talent on the roster.

Watch out for the cheapshot kings in this game.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Dino Lou has a mandate out for it.

How many times have we played the Isles this season and with Reaves in the lineup? I don't recall one game this season that sticks out that Martin, Cisekis and Clutterbuck were running amok like they do. (I think Cal missed a game maybe?)

Earlier in the season with Reaves in the lineup they were quiet as a mouse.

I guess if he got that team full of plugs to the conference final last year, I guess he's got to have some ability to coach but he never went far in the playoffs while he was coaching Nashville, the Predators had very good teams too.

He's overrated and does not play a 200 ft game.
While i agree that Barzal is overrated, he still does the little things like winning faceoffs, not taking bad penalties and yes barzal plays a much stronger two way game and is better than Strome in those areas. Im not trying to knock anyone but when you are comparing the players its not just about offensive stats.

Where does Barzal play a 200-foot game lol? And the narrative that he does but Strome doesn't is absurd, no offense. Go look at the defensive metrics this year for Strome.

Are you really trying to arguing that strome plays a 200ft game, wins faceoffs, and doesnt take bad penalties? Have you watched him his entire career? His time in NYR, this season? Strome can end on the statsheet at the end of the night but along with a under 45% faceoff percentage, terrible timing for bad penalties and sucks at defense.

But regardless i do not care much for barzal or strome.

Agree.

And Barzal plays with who? Strome gets to play with Panarin and on a top 5 PP.

Barzal>>> Strome AINEC

The Islanders are a blight on the current day NHL. Their intentionally low event, heavy obstruction game is a cancer - in a time where the best teams in the league are high powered and play fast and are exciting to watch no less.

A blowout win over them in their own barn, while basically meaningless in the grand scheme, would sure be some chicken soup for the soul. Prob won't happen because their entire game plan is to bore you into submission, but it would be nice.

I heard a rumor that Trotz uses Botox on his neck to keep it thick and tight.

And that he saw the meetup on the 29th and plans to attend.
