I don't get this new GM, How has Skille not been called up yet? Why is Frattin on the second line with our best forward?

The fact that Frattin was NOT put on waivers to send to Springfield a while ago is mind boggling. Watching him play with Joey and Jenner was painful. I have to believe Tropp is hurt. There is no earthly way Frattin could be considered the better play. I know I'm not a NHL coach, however, this one doesn't seem to take a genius watching the play on the ice...

Makes sense I guess... why not put Umby on the 4th line and let an ECHL guy play with your best center. No, I'm not saying Umby is great but he's worlds better than Frattin and I just don't get why you would render your best line useless with such a move.

Maybe they like someone at #14 in the draft! ;)

I also hope the Defensive pairs can get back to:

Johnson Tyutin
Murray Wiz
Savard Prout

Those seem pretty balanced and solid to me.

This is a should/must win game. If the Jackets find a way to lose this, then I'd say the probability of us making the playoffs plummits about 30%. The Jackets better be ready to play for this one.

100% agreed. I think the Dubi-Arti-Cam line could be pretty good though.
But yeah, of the available lineup, Frattin should be replaced be either Umby or Calvert. I'm really beginning to think Todd Richards has gone crazy.

Grabner and de Haan are both out for today's game. If the Jackets don't win this.......

We have every advantage against a tired, beaten up team who sucks even when healthy.

...Except for the fact that last time we played them we played our worst game of the season IMO.

I may be wrong, but to call up Skille, wouldn't the team need to either demote someone, or put someone on IR?

And really, I'm not sure what I may be missing, but I see Skille as being on roughly the same level as Frattin ... I don't think that's a huge upgrade, personally.

Anyone have any idea if this Frattin abortion is the brain child of Richards or if he is following marching orders from above? It is just ridiculous.

We need this one. Go Jackets!!!!

2 years ago we played the Islanders on Fan Appreciation Night, beat them 7-3. Let's get out there and get that kind of result again tonight. Would be awesome to see an offensive explosion from this team going into the final week here.

Skille has only played 2 games since returning from an injury.

I think he had four or five points in a game the other night.. As for Frattin playing on the first or second line is a head scratcher.. Tropp must be injured, if not and is sitting so Frattin can play I'd say that's ********..

There are 10 points left and 8 are needed to to secure a playoff spot as of today if I figured the standings correct.. (correct me if I'm wrong). NJ can still get 92 points and could have more ROW by the end of the season.. (both have 34 ROW right now but the CBJ do hold the total goals vs each other advantage)

The Jackets must win today..

Yep, I think we might need a "Jack Skille is Injured" thread. Every GDT, there are multiple people demanding a Skille call-up ;)

He just can't stay healthy. When he's out there you can see the talent level. When you're out injured 3 separate times at the AHL level what are your chances of staying injury free against the bigger and stronger players in the NHL ?

I just don't get the Frattin hate here. Yeah he's not Johansen's twin brother but he hasn't looked out of place playing with him, he does a lot of the things that Jenner does and gets to good places in the O-zone. It was also his first game in nearly a month.

You don't get the "Frattin hate"? Did you watch the Hawks game? He literally turned the puck over to the Hawks EVERY time he touched it (which was not very often). Hawks bounced him around like a rag doll. He played one of the worst games I have ever seen any Jacket play (and that is saying something).

Umby/Mac/Boll had a goal last game. So did Johansens line, it's not all about stacking your talent from top to bottom, it's about chemistry and balancing things out so the other team has more than one line to worry about. I would play Tropp over Frattin too but he's probably putting him with RyJo to see what they have with him. Are any of you having fun with this? Such a negative, worlds over threads lately....I'm excited as hell to get down there around 3 and have some bowls of loud mouth soup! Go Jackets!

I honestly didn't notice. Well, I'll watch him extra carefully tonight.

I don't think either of the goals you mentioned had anything to due with chemistry or balance. D-Mac scored off a big juicy rebound and Joey's was a laser from afar.
