Calgary isn’t going to run the table lmao
Yeah, that'd be a bit of a stretch, but it may become concern if Vegas locks up first, those last two games vs. Vegas and LA could be against unmotivated teams resting key players, particularly when neither likely wants to face Edmonton with everyone back in the lineup.

So if Calgary can win these next three vs. Anaheim, Minne and San Jose, it could get dicey, but per my last post, I do think at most Edmonton just needs one and they can really load up the lines for that last game vs. San Jose if it comes to that.

They play Anaheim san Jose Minnesota without kaprizov and than LA who most likely won't ice a competitive lineup and Vegas who won't ice a competitive lineup. Calgary wasn't suppose to be this close according to many only a few weeks ago.

"A week" could mean the end of the season as our last game is next Wednesday. Which means neither/both of McDrai will not be available until the start of the playoffs. This would be ironic if we're resting our key players to be fresh for the playoffs and we end up missing them altogether.

Theres like a 99% chance we make it so people need to relax.

That being said, I would be surprised if were sharp to start the playoffs. We didn’t have any line chemistry before the playoffs. It’s probably worse going in. Not so worried about McDavid and Draisaitl. Mildly to somewhat worried about Ekholm. Worried there just isn’t going to be enough time for Kane and Frederic to feel comfortable. And then theres the goaltending.

Sounds like Kaprisov and Ek are close to returning

We are garbage to start every playoff series anyway at the best of times

I just don’t know to expect from the team. But I do agree that this team is never ready to start the playoffs. Previous years we have came in hot and it didn’t seem to matter. But I don’t know … it just doesn’t feel like its our year to me … but I hope I am wrong.

Sure. But its still third place, and still very disappointing with respect to a team being pronounced by pundits to be SC favorites. I mean #1 favored team to win the cup. It doesn't reflect so well.

This is not a timeframe in which any Oilers fan should be pleased just making the playoffs, and just edging out Calgary to do that.

Worse this is a WC spot we're in except our division is so weak and only contains 3 playoff worthy clubs.

One problem we're facing in the Kings series is we have a lot of players returning from injury, and we have a lot of players that are not set as Oilers, or at least in current time frame. The Kings conversely are a club with very few changes that already know what they are. The Kings are sure no world beaters but its a composed roster that knows their game and are playing it.

Missing 5 of our top 9.

I look forward to the overreactions tonight
You could use a new hobby if thats your main jam on toast. People are going through a lot right now outside of hockey. So theres going to be reactions that are outside of hockey as well. Its not a good time right now for anybody is it?

Can we stop with the missing the playoffs fear mongering? It's a new chicken little thing to fret about constantly here.

If by some out of left field circumstance this actually became a real risk, all of 29, 97, 14 are back in the lineup.
It was only a real fear if we lost that Calgary game, which we didn’t.

They’re not winning all their remaining games.

Oilers need to win one more game at most. Possibly none.

It would be funny if we won the turtle race with losses. There's good reason to be optimistic. It's crazy unlikely that we miss the playoffs. Even if we got to game 80 and this were still possible, we'd just play McDrai a bit earlier than we'd like and then likely win at least one.

The team is playing decent. We really could win tonight. It's highly likely this team as it is would find a win in the remaining games.

Are all the oiler players made of f***ing paper mache and glass now?
Just remember that the standard for injury is low now. Any nagging, playable injury would result in a scratch. The timeline for return is tight but we should be at 100% for the 1st round. Maybe during the 1st round

Cool.

I saw Pat Travers last year down in Tucson. He put on a great show.

Before I left Phx last weekend, I also got to see (again, seen him a few now ) Colin James play a sleeper show at the Musical Instrument Museum in north Phx. He’s another Canadian treasure, such a great blues guitarist. It was a small but very modern theatre venue. Probably 350 peeps for a full house.
Seen Pat Travers multiple times as well. Always a good time and an underrated artist. Thanks again @Morpheus for these GDT's and the music selections.

At this rate, Montreal might clinch before Edmonton.
What an odd team that is. Few times I watch them they look like nothing and their top players aren't up to much. Its almost as if theres only 6-7 actually good clubs in the East and that Ottawa and Montreal are winning WC consolation prizes because nobody else bought a ticket..
