I never understood that theory. If these two teams advance they're going to run into each other again in the playoffs potentially. Why would you wait until game 83 to start grinding on opponents. Anybody that you played on the stretch who you might realistically have to go through in order to get to the finals I see no issue in trying to take a bite out of them. One line that torts had about the playoffs was that every hit was like an investment because it would wear players down. I don't think that investment time frame just starts when the first round starts

I'd rather get out healthy while working on issues that we have been struggling with than looking to send a message.

I get what you are saying and there is merit there, but we are already down one guy for maintenance and lost Trouba for the rest of the night and who knows how long after.
