GDT: Game 77: Sharks vs. Flames 7:30pm NBCSCA

I will be honest. I'm not that excited to watch tonight's game. The past couple of weeks has shades of last year's garbage and that's not great. Team obviously regressed and top line has stagnated/been poor. I got a breakaway pass for tonight so I'm gonna go regardless, but man, it's rough to have any semblance of hope.
Just remember who's on the blue line. You shouldn't expect us to look better than last year when we're icing essentially half an AHL team right now. Not "regression" so much as "traded away our goalie, our 2C and top point scorer, our best two defensemen, and one of our top 6 wingers for futures, and replaced them with AHLers... and the one AHL D who started looking like a real NHLer broke his shoulder."

So yeah, tonight isn't exciting nor are the following 5 games, but it's almost over and keep your chin up -- shouldn't be demoralizing.

Edit: 3-2 Flames. Their lineup looks horri-bad too so could go either way.
Graf, Celebrini (please god)
Farabee, Kadri, Pospisil

All fair points, I'm just frustrated lol

For Celebrini's sake, I hope we have Eklund up on his line. It has to be tiring to be the guy who's decent defensively on that line.

The funny thing is the blue line is actually better than it was this time last year.

Mukh is done for the year unfortunately (includes AHL playoffs), no Toffoli tonight
No surprise about Mukh - I'm actually hopeful he's full strength by camp. I know that's pessimistic but the AC joint can take a long time to recover to full strength.

Bummer about Toff. If the Flames weren't so bad I might significantly change my snog.

Mukh is done for the year unfortunately (includes AHL playoffs), no Toffoli tonight and a must win game for a desperate Flames team with Wolf in net who has dominated California teams. Flames 4-1

Celebrini
Kadri, Coronato, Huberdeau, Coleman

Vatrano should've gotten a 20 game suspension for that cheapshot, but we all know Parros won't hit his old pals in Anaheim with any sort of supplemental discipline.

Kovalenko!

They also sent down Schudt so I'm guessing with Desharnais and Rutta going on the trip after the game that Thompson will get sent down soon as well. This team still needs a lot of work but at least they've increased the amount of NHL'ers that have a future here from last year. I hope Grier has a very active offseason because the entire bottom six needs work, the entire blue line needs work, and we will need a goalie that can eat starts in case Askarov misses time. If anyone is willing to pay us to take a goalie off their hands, we probably should do it. Maybe Detroit will give us a 3rd to take Talbot off their hands. They need to get Cossa in there.
