Did you look at the lineup ? It reads like a preseason game.

Dunno who's missing? Anderson, Caufield and Guhle? Guhle is a rookie that should probably be in the AHL for this year if we had a good team. Hoffman is there. Suzuki is there. Drouin is there. Gallagher is there. Those are the top dogs acquired by MB to lead this team.

I'm not questioning whatever this is a bad team. It's a terrible team. Im questioning how better we are if healthy. I don't think we are much better. Everyone got injuries at this point. Landeskog did not play a game for the avs. Nishuskin missed half the year. Byram too. The Caps had a truck load of injuries. People act like we are missing prime Crosby and Malkin ...

He is now. He pushed him (Matheson) hard, both to see what he's got and out of necessity.
Marty should know by now what Matheson's limits are.

These end of season meaningless games are a mixed bag of risk/ reward. They certainly don't want to overextend their players, I would think. Give the younger players and more recent callups, more TOI -- there is no point anymore to expend their best.

I'm sad to say but RHP is a better player than Armia. You know Armia the guy MB extended for a non insignificant amount of money for a relatively long period of time.

Yes exactly Marty knows now. He needed to see with his own eyes what exactly he's capable off. He pushed him to the limit, gave Matheson the green light to understand where he fits in the future. Plus he waas also needed to work all those minutes out of necessity, with all the injuries.

Next year he'll put him in his right pocket.
