1st- It was a stupid pick
2nd- KK was not traded but lost as a RFA - Would you have given him 6M $ to retain his services ?
What was really stupid was to use the 2 Carolina draft picks to acquire Dvorak... But Habs had only Suzuki and Evans to start that season.

I would have signed him before that nonsense could have occurred. And yes at that point I would have matched and extended him.
