Good game. One thing I noticed is I'd take Jake Debrusk's money and give it to the other better Jake that was playing tonight ...Guentzel ...sure looks good, I wonder what sort of $$ he'll be looking for? $8.5 M?

Pretty, pretty good.

Just one lingering negative - whenever the Bruins get a PP, I feel deflated and prepare myself for 2+ mins of disappointment. I just about prefer when we go short-handed. That's not how it's supposed to be.

Nice win. Peeke excellent again, can't wait for Maroon to get into some games.

He's been a steady presence. Wotherspoon as well. Should be everyday players unless resting IMO. They box out, clear bodies in the crease, take the body at every opportunity and move the puck surprisingly well.

I was watching the Carolina feed (I'm assuming he wasn't injured), but with two defenseman in the box on a 5 on 3, Matt Grzelcyk was passed over to kill the second part when they got scored on to make it 3-1 (they elected to go with 2 F 1 D). A 5'8 defeseman who provides no value offensively, defensively, or physically should not be dressing in the playoffs. Falls into the same grouping as JVR IMO. Throw reputation out the window. Might be a valuable piece in the right situation, but in a balls to the wall fast pace 1st round playoff series.... just asking for trouble.

Swayman was great. Put up a wall and made the big saves when needed.

Pastrnak's feel for the game is unreal. He gets pegged as a talent, but it's his sense that makes him elite. So many great moments tonight where he just put the puck into space to lead his linemates that often ended up with the puck back on his stick in a prime scoring area. Like he's processing at a level above everyone else. Just incredible to watch.

I think that was the best game Pasta has played in a while. He was masterful tonight with the puck. No unforced turnovers, great puck possession and distribution, and a very sweet goal.

Under most scenarios it’s we are likely to face either TB or the Laffs in the first round.

Let’s be honest. We’ve had incredibly hot goaltending lately. I don’t necessarily see dominance as a team. But that is part of hockey. Last year it was Bob on FLA. Rode him the whole way. If the Bs can continue solid D style play, with tight checking and sound positioning, a hot goalie can bring you a long way with only a few key goals every now and then. The Devils of the Broduer era.

That was Burns who overplayed his man and pursued the forward too high in the slot. I was shocked to see it. Pasta just walked right through the open door.
Burns had a man though right guy or not .Jarvis was right there then curled away towards blueline.Ahh well regardless it was a sweet play by Pasta.

That was a damn near perfect defensive game against a very good team. That was the Bruins winning the Bruins way (for this version). Really encouraging to see.

Have to tip my hat to Monty as well. Carolina brings the forecheck and sends a lot of people in deep so one of the ways to beat them is quick outlet and stretch pass to a breaking forward. We did that to perfection on that 400th goal.

Swayman also saying not so fast on giving that first playoff game to Ullmark. Great game. Only critique would be the PP. Yes, Carolina is a great PK team, but the PP has to be better for playoff success.

i think the D pairings tonite is game 1 playoffs.
only issue i have is no lorhei or shattenkirk fot the PP.
Gtyz is fine as long as he stays on 3rd pairing

I thought the Bruins did a really good job, especially in the 1st period, of taking advantage of the Canes' aggressive forecheck to use stretch passes and good vision to get in behind their D on multiple occasions. Smart play and coaching, taking something the opposition sees as a strength and finding the weaknesses in it.

That's the sort of tactical nous that can count for a lot in the course of a playoff series.

Impressive win and especially on the road. Marchand finally hits 400. Probably a shutout for swayman if peeke isn’t a bonehead.

I'm still so happy this morning that Brad got his 400th goal. The only goal allowed in the last two games was a 5 on 3 power play goal. That is pretty damn good, against two really solid teams. Keep on rolling Bruins!
Looked like the Carolina player ripped the puck out of the net and shot it at marchand in the corner after the goal too. I only saw the replay twice though (and it wasnt that great of an angle) so I could be wrong.
