Well, no shit, he's the head coach and he's made Skinner a third-line player...yet is still the biggest contributor to us being in the lead right now.
I just don't like all this talk about Knoblauch like he's wrong about Skinner in some way, or holding him back. Skinner was pushed down the lineup a lot while his defense was bad, and now he's improved a lot and is getting more opportunity. That's all there is to it. If it weren't for Knoblauch's defensive systems we wouldn't have made the finals. If that coach is picking on a player, then it's on the player

So much deference to J Skinner here and essentially he hasn't been that much all year. Look at him being invisible in games against playoff clubs like Vegas. I dunno. Still not a fan of players that show up when they feel like it. Same goes for Arvid. These guys as even Debrusk mentioned are starting to get results legitimately worried that they could be out of lineup if they don't get rolling. We got a lot of Wingers around.

I think Knob is still living off the goodwill of making it to the Finals. He deserves credit, sure, but McDavid doing Gretzky shit, Coffey taking over the D, and the Penalty Kill guy all played a massive role in us getting there.

Problem with shutting players down is that you get games like this tonight where a spoiler team plays hard and makes it a 50-50 game. There's no "easy" games left on the schedule and no guarantee for that golden ticket until it actually happens.

Then you get to see what your depth can do when the big boys aren't available.

I don’t think starting on the road is that big of a deal. We hardly ever win game 1 anyway
Kings are 28-4-4 at home this year and 15-19-5 on the road. Feels foolhardy to just concede home ice advantage.

Obviously they shouldn't put guys' health at risk and play them injured, but if Draisaitl was ready to play tonight than he should have played. Sucks he got hurt. But thats what happens sometimes in hockey.

Knob is great but that doesn’t mean he’s perfect.

that's fair, but we've seen McDavid and Draisaitl playing great in the playoffs, and teams like Vegas sliced through the team and laughed about it afterwards. Coffey is running the defense but Knoblauch was hired specifically because he was great at implementing a zone defense system, and that's why we got into the finals. As for him living off that reputation, that was less than a year ago. He should be living off that run still. We can't know exactly how much credit Knob should get, but I'd gamble on him being important

Vegas sliced through The Muffin Man. We win that series and probably the Cup with a better goalie.

Ya that generational level PK alone will never be repeated by this team.

They really did get lightning in a bottle and going all the way to game 7 in the Finals is damn, damn hard to repeat.

As if we can blame him for a bad goal against or anyone will give him credit for an Oilers goal scored.

Nah, it's not live by each goal for or against, it's a much larger body of work

The team has underperformed offensively all season and he's overplayed McDrai (probably a big part of why they're both injured) and underplayed the bottom of the roster.

"Fragile team" was his answer during the shit stretch. Pathetic.
