It’s becoming glaringly obvious that this team needs a C better than Larkin and needs a D better than Seider. Seider can’t be your #1 he has to be the 2nd best guy on the top pairing. His IQ isn’t good enough to be a 1 on a cup contender.
Except that loser point probably just dropped us to 11th overall. They don't even know how to tank properly.

He’s plenty good as a #1 when you’re not exhausted by covering for a #6 all game long.
The fact he’s been paired with Chiarot this long is entirely on Yzerman
I won’t disagree on the #6 part. I still think you would want him to be a #2. I just don’t think his IQ is elite enough. In fairness he does have the toughest matchups in the league and gets very little to no help so taking a little responsibility off him could really help

Seider and edvinsson will be an excellent 1 2 punch. I think ed will end up being better than seider long term simply because he has a higher hockey iq and as he grows more into his body I think we will see it more and more. But when they played together seider looked soooooo much better. And advanced stats tell the same story. I think seider is being worn down playing with chiarot and that's on yzerman. Seider should tell him as much going into our early golf season.
I also agree kane should not be on the ice to protect a lead and it's not the first time it's happened this year. We should have 2 set forward lines near the end of a game for empty net situations not just rolling the lines. I really think todd has just given up on the season and wants a better draft pick.

Maybe losing that way completely breaks their spirits and they just lose out. Would be the best thing for this team. Obvious regression, better draft pick, hopefully more pressure on Yzerman to get his head out of his ass and to actually do a good job. He drafts well but everything else is dog shit

Even if they won this game, it's hard to envision them getting consistent wins against Florida, Tampa, and Carolina coming up. This team does nothing better than those opponents. But yeah, I'd rather have the two points here. f*** the Blues.

This team needs good coaches that manage better players time on the ice and some upgrades. Seider is #1 defansman , but Yzerman can't bring him partner.
He probably does have a partner it’s Ed, problem is behind those 2 it’s basically complete trash although I do really like Jo as a 5-6 long term. The D-core is complete trash and it honestly just makes the forwards worse as well as the goalies. If yzerman doesn’t fix it this offseason he needs to be let go.
My guess is ASP is in AHL and Holl is still a regular come next fall. I have almost no confidence in yzerman having a good summer

Larkin, Raymond and Seider are gassed. And I think Larkin may be playing hurt. He’s been mid at best since returning from the 4 nations.
