But unironically. They’re so mediocre. We settle for any flash at this point. And we love to use the “opportunity” excuse when comparing them to other prospects but Stutzle isn’t just destroying them; he has more EV points than Panarin this year. There’s absolutely zero chance Lafreniere would be doing what Stutzle is doing if their positions were switched and I guarantee Stutzle would be at least a 60+ point player for us even if he wouldn’t be at the numbers he’s at now (and I’m not convinced he wouldn’t be - he’s at a 96 point pace, he’d likely be close to point per game).

It’s sad. Many Ranger fans wanted Kakko over Hughes and thought we’d be lucky if he fell to us, they were seen as neck & neck, Jack Hughes has exactly 100 more points than Kakko in his career. 94 to 194. Then Laf has 86 to Stutzle’s 169. These players aren’t even in the same stratosphere at this point.

he’s not a forward. he isn’t driving any kind of rush, which is what you need from your forwards

I genuinely and wholeheartedly disagree. If that were the case Kravtsov would produce elsewhere. He’s 21 and pacing to match Panarin’s best season while out producing him and every Ranger at 5v5. There are talents that force their way to success no matter what. Zibanejad would be playing 2C behind him after this year. He has the same number of points as our leading scorer in less games and is top 15 in the NHL in points per game.

I just dont believe any pick would come here and produce at forward.
