No, it's definitely not easy to just invent four injuries and have those players and their agents go along with it. Not even remotely worth it either.

I don't see it that way. It's pro sports. If they want to give an opportunity, they'll find a way. They can be demoted if it came to it to make it happen too. The players and agents can be bypassed if the team wants it bad enough. I agree it's not worth it but there's no reason to pretend like they don't play IR games all the time over the course of a season. Vlasic was plenty healthy enough to play for a lot of the season where he wasn't activated from IR. He spent a good what three weeks skating with the team while on IR?
