Who gives a shit? Kovalenko got his chance and did nothing with it. He's a 25 year old smurf winger and therefore infinitely less important to this team's future than guys playing instead of him like Graf, Lund and Ostapchuk.

Why do you treat lineup decisions like some sort of morality play? Kovalenko doesn't kill penalties like Goodrow or bring a physical edge like Grundstrom. Whether Kovalenko or Gregor plays on the fourth line doesn't make a difference because neither of them will do anything in that role.

Kovalenko was worth taking a flier on. Unfortunately it turns out he sucks. Time to move on.

I'm impressed that Ostapchuk is still in the lineup.

He's basically going to look bad as long as he's stapled to Goodrow. We've seen this enough with other guys that while this is the case we basically have no idea what Ostapchuk actually is.
