I thought their play and possession picked up when they realized McElhinney was in against Detroit. Hopefully a similar effort is brought tonight.

BUT jeeeeeez McElhinney makes me nervous. Tons of rebounds and he's always so far out of the net.

The most annoying people in sports are coming to Nationwide tonight. So not only does the team need to elevate themselves, but the Blue Jackets fans as well. There will be random shouts during the national anthem and their will be terrible towels. CBJ fans need to be better than them. I wish I could be there.

Detroit lost last night and one of Toronto or Philly will lose tonight. We can make a dent in the playoff push and make it easier on ourselves. Pittsburgh's 4-5-1 in their last 10 so they're not playing great hockey right now. This is our chance to finally beat these guys.

McBackup was pretty good against Detroit, so I'll expect the same tonight.

That picture of downtown Columbus is clearly a fake, because it looks sunny and warm.

Will be watching from up in Youngstown this evening. CBJ games are blacked out on FSO (due to Pittsburgh claiming the area), so I'm stuck with Root. Never thought I'd be wanting to listen to Rims and Billy so badly. :help:

just need to play like they did for CMac on Tuesday...its Wilkes Barre/Scranton with Crosby, Neal, Kunitz, and Fleury...we can make this happen...just need to play smart and stay out of the box...

The forecheck needs to abuse the Penguins' blueline and make Fleury flop around like a fish. We don't really have a pairing who can stop Crosby from getting into the board, so the key will be to break the game open early.

It's too damn hot for a penguin to be just walkin' around here. I gotta send him back to the South Pole.

I'll be happy if we just get a point, but at some point we have to get over our Nashville-like fear of this team and just play all out.

Dear Columbus,

Please do your best to beat us. Hopefully it'll help us can our coach, and it'll help you guys to gain some points in the standings. 2-for-1 deal, and everyone should be happy. Thanks.

Not to overlook the Canes on Saturday, but it would totally make my weekend if we beat the Pens.

For some reason the Jackets struggle in games like this. Huge, hyped-up, sell-out games. We can never seem to beat powerhouse teams.
Example: 11 straight losses to the Hawks. Haven't beaten the Bruins since 2010. Lost 5 in a row to Pens. Held a 2-goal lead in both games against the Blues this season and picked up 1 of a possible 4 points.

The Jackets have to start winning games against the top teams in the NHL or they will never be taken seriously. Tonight would be a great night to turn that around.

Pens went 0-7 on the power play last night. Odds of them going two straight games without getting it going are small. Stay out the box.....talking to you Horton.

Our team's a joke at the moment guys. If it weren't for a couple lucky bounces last night, we would have been embarrassed yet again. Half of our fanbase wants fireworks down the stretch to get our coach canned. Much appreciated if you could have your game of the year tonight. Cheers.

CBJ won't need its game of the year to beat the Pens tonight.

Your fanbase is spoiled. I'd kill for us to be in your spot. Just a little perspective.

I hate games like these when we have our arena camped by other jerseys. I feel we lose a lot of those; feels terrible going home after those. Win!

Feels great, though, when we win those invasion type games. This year we've sent home the Leaf and Wing contingents with a loss. I love how docile and "friendly" they become when they are losing, then flip back to ashats if they tie the game up or go ahead. Several years ago, a particularly obnoxious Sabres filled crowd was sent home quietly. It's getting better, folks. Looking forward to the days when CBJ fans eliminate the influx by filling the seats!

Two glaring incidents are infamous, though. Still steaming over the Zamboni incident with Pens fan and playing of Chelsea Dagger when Hawks scored a goal in our barn a few years ago.

Agreed, Derbo.

The difference between Leafs/Sabres and Wings/Pens is the number of locals is visiting gear - many, I wonder, who wear Union Blue to the remainder of the games they attend. That will be more difficult to remove.

Was confident up to the point where i saw Bobrovsky leaving the game vs Detroit and not starting tonight.

Despite penguins injuries etc they are still managing to play rather offensive and get alot of shots on net.
And they still have alot of good players in the team.
Certainly not sure about this game tonight. 3 in a row for Penguins and in verge of the worst losing streak in 2 seasons might be enough for em to turn it around. getting past Fleury if he's on his game is going to be hard :( especially with the bad record columbus has against pens

God damnit bob, wai u heff to get sick now

Yeah...one of my buddies fits that mold. He does a 6 game season ticket pack. However, he was a Wings and Pens fan through 80's/90's, so his favorite teams are:
1) Pens
2) Wings
3) CBJ

I don't mind normally, but he says he's rooting for Pens tonight even though they don't need points. Says they need to unf**k themselves. :(
