pens fan here who attended the game. must say that while yea a ton of pens fans were there, there was also a lot of die hard blue jacket fans in attendance. was probably the funnest game ive ever been to, i really like Nationwide arena and look forward to coming back, hopefully for the playoffs. p.s. cherish the fact that tickets are still available to you every game. its f'''ing expensive trying to get tix here in pitt

I built a house in Grove City back in 93 and lived there for ten years.... There were many Pitt fans before the CBJ franchise, and my my pockets were shallow at the time too.. You are correct on all points!!

That said, I was a Pens fans before we had the CBJ. When the Pens play the CBJ in Columbus, you have to make a choice. Many years ago, I walked in with a CBJ jersey and a Pens hat. I walked out with a CBJ jersey and a CBJ hat.

If this franchise has failed in any way, it's been the failure to convert existing NHL fans who supported the Pens, Wings and Blackhawks to home team fans. 12 years of suck is hardly a compelling reason to switch while these other clubs are winning Stanley Cups.

We filled the stadium in the early 00’s but after the lock out and continued losing the original fan base that started the Blue Jackets began to fade… It will take some time to bring back those days..
