EXCUSES. And ones based in hypothetical.

He was asked to give names. And he gave TWO that the Bruins were actually actively involved in attempting to acquire.

How easy it seems to be to excuse this management team for their failings. We give away our players for Crap or draft picks but it's somehow impossible to expect the reverse.

Beyond tired of the excuses. Way beyond.

Thanks MMB.

He asked for two realistic names and I gave them that would have 100% filled the needs of the current Bruins core and cost futures not currents. Years before people could dismiss but this year those two are immediate fills and we just watched two nights of games where the playoffs could have gone from lock to gamble.

If CJ was still coach, I think the B's would've been out of the playoff picture already! .....it was time for Claude to go.

...and sorry to be positive, but I actually think the B's still have a good chance of turning this thing around by starting with a win on Thursday.

Just end the losing streak and the pattern from the last two years with two wins to finish the week and take the pressure off the last two weeks. Pretty simple; the two teams chasing the Bruins are facing the Bruins.

They already failed in challenge #1; to stop the team chasing them for #3 seed in the Atlantic and to try and catch the #2 seed.

Second challenge: stop the two teams chasing them for the wildcard.

IF they do that, they finish .500 on the week and may keep ahead of the Leafs. Anything less is just continuing the annual downward march in March.

Tampa Bay losing at home to the Coyotes tonight is now on life support. I think the only team that can knock us out now is Brooklyn.

I'd happily agree with you but I swear you and I had this conversation about Detroit last year and Ottawa the year before and were feeling pretty good despite being in the middle of the annual losing streak.

I'm with everyone else who will breathe a sigh of relief if they take the next two in regulation. Anything less (to whomever they lose to) is just inviting that team in to take their spot.

That pretty well sums it up. Not the time to fold our tents and cry about the last two years.

I wish you were wrong about those conversations but you are not.

The B's played well enough the last two nights that they should have at least picked up one point but didn't.

2 years ago they had a brutal last 3 games on the road and after the stinker in Washington where the game was over in 5 minutes you knew what was coming.

Last year they had a disastrous loss in Newark and then a bad OT loss to Carolina at home. They demolished the Wings at home but then came the final game with Ottawa where they played like they wanted to lose. Julien should have been fired then but wasn't.

They have only 9 games left but SEVEN are at home. I can't fathom them screwing this up.

No, it's not excuses, it's common sense. There's a reason Sakic was not able to move Landeskog/Duschenes. DS is not the only GM that said no to his outrageous demands, all interested GMs said no. I guess they should all be fired. Besides, Sakic wanted at a minimum Carlo, so that was opening another hole. As for Shattenkirk, you only add a rental like him if you're a true contender which the Bruins aren't.

I don't think the sky is falling just yet, the last two games the Bruins gave a good effort. against the Leafs that was a pretty evenly played game, but let's face it the officiating in that game was brutal and they basically gift wrapped 2 pts. to the Leafs. Against the Senators, the Bruins were by far the better team and should have won, but Anderson stood on his head to win that game. The goals Rask gave up, well 2 of them were deflections the first off looked like Colin's skate and the third goal off a nice tip in front, not much you can do about those. If anything for blame I look at Moore again late game penalty and this was a good call as he made a stupid bone head play in the offensive zone and although it was not a PP goal it was directly from that, as the PK unit was totally gassed and could not get the puck out of the zone. So yeah if anyone should sit maybe Moore sits and Nash, bring in Czarnik and put Cehlarik back on the second line.

Good game last night you guys. I really like your team. Always have.

One question, has Backes played wing all year for you guys? Oh, I lied, one more question. Are you guys happy with him? I always liked him in St. Louis.

Good luck the rest of the way. Don't let that blue and white team pass you in the standings.

Rask did not lose this game but he did not make any big saves. Anderson made like 10. Rask gets far to many passes here. He's paid to steal games. He's not doing that

What was he suppose to steal last night exactly?

All 3 goals were deflections off his own D-men. He had zero chance on the winner (a tip by Turris, then deflected off Chara).

Rask earns a shutout/steals a game? Crickets from the usual suspects.
Rask wins but gives up even one goal? His defense deserves the credit. They won in spite of him.
Rask loses but plays well? He can't make a timely save.....can't steal us a single game....the other goalie out-played him...etc.
Rask loses but plays poorly? No other goalie has bad games.....Rask sucks.

Rinse. Repeat.

Ottawa had a lot of good luck last night and Anderson especially did - some of those saves were when he didn't know where the puck was. The Bruins had some bad luck....like the whistle blown when the puck was going in the net. It happens...not at all upset with this win compared to the Leafs being handed 2 points.

This team was trucking along pretty good before Cassidy starting messing too much with his forward lines. I like his in-game adjustments, but his post-game adjustments up front have been questionable lately.

We've seen no less than 16 different forwards dress under Cassidy now.

Bring back Cehlarik and put him back with Krejci/Pastrnak. You still have the option of using Stafford up there late in games.

That 2nd line went south the minute Belesky was placed there.

And remove No-skill Acciari from this line-up, immediately. I know some of you put too much stock in his hits and having a 4th line being a pure energy line, but he's an offensive black-hole. 40 NHL games at ages 24/25 with zero NHL goals screams NOT AN NHL PLAYER.

And I'm done with Riley Nash as well. He can kill penalties pretty good. That's all he does.

Marchand - Bergeron - Backes
Cehlarik - Krejci - Pastrnak
Vatrano - Spooner - Stafford
Belesky - Moore - Czarnik

Bruins losing making my life miserable here in leafland.

I'm right here with you. I had a rep come in yesterday trying to promote his staffing company. Just before he left, he said "Are you a Bruins fan?" - I wear a Bruins gold necklace every game day - I said yes. He proceeded to grin and asked if I liked the game last night. Told him I was still pissed, took his brochure & shredded it. Good luck with another company....lol

The Vatrano shot from the high slot late in the third (I believe on the power play). Almost squeaked through and I'm pretty sure Anderson had zero idea that the puck was even shot.

It doesn't exactly give me the warm and fuzzies about this team, but outside of the Leafs their competition have faltered down the stretch this season as well. The Bruins have to right the ship, which they are still capable of but they are still in a position to get in.

Bigger picture though, their record is getting too skewed against divisional opponents/ future playoff matchups. It was bad enough when it was just Montreal.

I also like how the Sens fans have been respectful. The way the Leafs fans posted on our board was ridiculous.

If they get in as the 8 seed because the rest of the conference is terrible, I hope the Jacobii don't let that fool them into seeing what this team really is.
