Daniel Marois, you sir are crazy.

50/50 is insane lol

If we go on an 8 game heater, then it's 50/50

Maybe lol. But I am looking at the next game for each team and outside of NYR they all have a tough matchup while the Wings have an easy one. If they all lose and the Wings win it's not as bad as it looks now. The flyers beating the Habs today was big.

I feel like Yzerman can't win with anyone here.

He needs to move Larkin. That will be an unpopular move with many but there's literally nothing left to do. We've got new players, we've got youngsters playing, we've got a new coach. We've shown we're capable of putting together a winning streak. We can play better. We have played better.

No more mopey, victim, head hanging hockey.

I agree. Larkin has shown three years in a row now he is not a leader when it matters most.

In addition to the skill deficiency there is a striking lack of drive and physicality in this team. All these dudes are 190+. Physicality is a matter of who wants it more.

I really wouldn’t mind Yzerman exploring the trade market for Larkin. It’d be interesting to see what he could get for him.

Openly ‘exploring’ trading away a hometown star that has spent his whole career here and has a no trade clause (That you gave him) is one way to show all the players in the league that you are a 2 bit organization…..

Of course icing a dog sh** team for 9 straight years is another more obvious way to display that.

In 2023 the team just was not good enough, last yr he was injured twice and it was exactly in those 2 windows that the team pissed the playoffs away by 1 point cuz they coud not win without him, this yr is the first time when I can legit say that he did not step up as well as Raymond btw. But I wanna wait til after the season cuz I think both are laboring something, the drop off is just too inexplicable for them. Apart from that, you do not trade a 70+ pts player making under 9mil in this cap world. In 2 yrs from now that same player will cost you at least 10mil.

There are several other problems more pressing than Larkin: No legit starter in goal, no depth scoring, awful 3rd pair, Johansson and Chiarot being forced to play too many minutes.

It will be mistake to trade Larkin. He has great contract and he's capable of carrying team on his shoulders . Instead scratch him for couple of games , let him to heal whatever he has.
Don't remember what was that , but previously he got healthy scratched

Maybe we should have convinced JT Miller to come here and kept Perron around?

Meh, from what I have read about Miller is he is indeed competitive but he overdoes getting on teammates and his effect runs thin quite quickly. Brad Richardson (former Canuck) said that JT was really hard on Elias Pettersson and that he (Brad) told JT he needed to cool it otherwise he was going to lose EP. I also think Perron's affect is overdone, especially considering it came with crap performance at 5 on 5 and really stupid penalties.

after seeing sens push wings around again i will become critical of yzerman unless he toughens this roster up next season . could have had 'the wrath' here for peanuts instead of several of these useless dmen on roster . and credit to edvinsson for standing up to chucky ! when youve got opponants hunting your players you have to have a counterstrike unit , you cant just allow your team to be chewed away at by more physical teams !!!! notice how tbay didnt win til maroon arrived . for several years it should have been somebody like jeannot on this roster over a veleno or fisher . yzerman forgets how he had probert and shanny riding shotgun

I like how it's Larkin's fault and not Steve Yzermans...

It's not Larkin/DeBrincats/Lucas Raymonds fault this team sucks beyond them. Go get better players and don't sign multiple players to trash. I don't need to see a 2-4 million dollar signing outside of the organization in UFA for a longtime now. Bring in guys that cost alot, are good, or trade for one that's better.

Dylan Larkin can't fire a coach, and Yzerman drug his leggs into the room to fire him like they didn't even work.

Pretty simple. Collect talent, stop signing multiple players like this is still a 2021 roster. Between Motte/Gustaffson/Tarasenko... Yzerman 'COULD' have gotten better players and didn't, didn't even come close.

Red Wings legitimately might have been better off this offseason signing literally no one outside of Talbot.

If we're trading Larkin, and doing a whole reboot, I don't want Yzerman doing it anymore. Someone else can rebuild his rebuild.

2024 March 14 Games Played:
3-9-2 for 8 PTS .286 Point Percentage

2025 March 13 Games Played:

One game left in March, if we win we match our point total for last years March!
