Considering being stuck on the 3rd pair this entire time with mostly sub-performing veteran partners (and making them look good), in my opinion, Schneider has shown more at this point in his young career than our other young D at the same point of their career - with maybe the exception of Fox but not sure how much time Fox spent on the 3rd pair with a a player the equivalent of Nemeth. (no, Schneider won't be like Fox)

If there is some way they could have Schneider switch and play with Fox...

I don't think that's it. This game in particular the Devils really aren't that bad of a team at 5v5, they just have had awful goaltending. It's not surprising they had a decent push.

Considering literally no shot is safe with Georgiev a safe game is giving him goal support. If this team can't both score and defend and have to get 1 shot on goal to be able to defend well that doesn't bode well for the playoffs.

I think the focus was to shut down the Devils' speed in the 2nd and look to put the foot on the gas pedal in the 3rd, given the way Georgiev has played this last decent stretch - I think they wanted minimum of 2-1 entering the 3rd instead of trying for more in the second and entering the 3rd down 4-2.

Lotsa what-ifs, I know. But I'm glad they clogged everything up.

Granted, I'm fully expecting the Rangers to keep this WAY closer than it should be in the 3rd. lol
