Let's go Jackets. This is one that you have to win. Too many tough and toss-up games left to let this one get away.

I'm guessing the lines are just a repeat from Friday and haven't been officially announced?

I haven't been a fan of Umbie's but someone has to score so I like his chances better than Comeau & Tropp. So put him in and why not give Boll a shot if he is ready?

When on the power play I suggest we put one fewer guy out and make it a self-imposed four on four. Again, couldn't hurt.

Couldn't believe he said that. Then again, as a Cowtown lifer nothing really surprises me anymore.

I may be in the minority, but my only huge gripe with Richards is how he uses his goalies. Today should be a McBackup game. He has proven himself capable, especially while Bob was out. Bob is going to need some rest here and there, especially if we grab a playoff spot.

I also think you need to get Boller in there. He may be taken for granted now, but I like his effort and his work along the boards. Today seems like a good day to work some of the rust off.

Still don't understand this line of thinking. We have forwards bashing their bodies against the glass numerous times per night, and constantly sprinting up and down the ice, and we think nothing of them playing every game. Our goalies face maybe 30 - 35 shots a game and spend a lot of time standing still. Why do we worry about them getting "overworked"?

Let's call a spade a spade.

If we don't win this one; we probably want to re-think that playoff thing. We'd be pretenders.

Try standing in the butterfly for even 30 minutes, and you'll collapse in pain. I always thought goalies had it easy too, but to do their job well they burn through a lot of calories, risk dehydration just as much as skaters do, and need to maintain an absurd level of concentration. There's a reason goalies get burned out.

Look, I know it's not easy, but all players have certain levels of difficulty to their position. I just don't know why people think Bob needs a break all the time - he played almost every game down the stretch last season and didn't wilt. No reason to think he'll do it this year.

Yeah I would play him every game too. But I think there's a good chance we'll end up paying for it.

They say the team that is basically out of the playoffs is the hardest team to play because there's no pressure on them anymore. But I think that saying won't apply today. 5-2 Blue Jackets win

goals

Horton x2
Johansen
Wiz
Umberger (PP)
