GDT: GAME 70: YOUR SEATTLE KRAKEN (30-34-5 and in danger of falling out of a top five selection) at the Minnesota Mild (38-25-5).

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

As a Colorado resident, the day the Kraken started taking sweater orders I immediately put in a GRUBAUER 31 purchase, which I still wear proudly around Denver.

(My other Kraken sweater is a DRIEDGER in case you're wondering my effect on the team. I suppose I have a no-name Winter Classic sweater).

Anyhow, I still love Gru.

Game 70..

A few things of note.

  • We've already had 5 more points this season than season 1. So the chatter about this team being worse than Season 1 is off-base.
  • We're sitting tied (Pts%) for the 6th/7th pick with PITTSBURGH. Let that sink in for a second. We're tied with the team that has Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang and Erik Karlsson.
  • It's looking like (again, Pts%) that we can realistically fall anywhere from 3rd to 9th in the draft order, though 3rd is highly unlikely.
  • We need only 4 more wins to match the wins we had last season. That seemed like a pipe "dream" a couple weeks ago. I'm sure we won't (and hope we don't) match the 81 points, because I'd bet that would mean we pick 9th, possibly even 10th, but the accomplishment of having the same number of wins as last season could be motivating to some of the team. Like "we didn't actually get worse, which means we can get better".

I also went no-name on all of my jerseys, because I don't want to be walking around with GIORDANO or DONSKOI on my back for the rest of my life.

Well .. maybe it's just a mod thing. That is my one and only Kraken jersey as well. Though, I am waiting for a Wright jersey to arrive.

I have a Winter Classic Beniers. Home, away, RR, and Metropolitans are all no name, as are my Firebirds away and third.
An upside of cheering for the Kraken and and for CV is that they both have produced nice sweaters. When I supported Vancouver no matter what your favourite colour was, somehow they ruined it.

If I was Bylsma I'd call a time out and chew the team out. Zero backchecking or coverage. Nobody's skating. We look like Chicago in the d zone.
