matinpalo was playing against the best players in the world in the 4 nations and looking good but with us he can't even crack the regular lineup

Precisely, Green has gotten them prepared but they're still a shitty team that can't score and can't defend when their opponent matches the effort.

Three losses in the last four games.

Team just doesn't look desperate enough to make the playoffs. They run on adrenaline mostly but when the other team elevates their play they seem to quickly run out of it and lose their cool. No one should feel very confident they won't just run out of steam entirely and fall out of the WC race down the stretch.
 
Everything was around the perimeter

Pass the puck around a box until it gets to a guy who can't pass it off and has to shoot a muffin wide or into shinpads

Giroux put the puck into the middle and into the danger zones a few times in the 3rd, otherwise it was perimter passing.

They weren’t doing that pre 4 nations. They were playing calm and calculated.

They’ve completely abandoned that

But you’re right. When your goalie is forsberg there is basically no chance. When jbd can just softly wrist the puck from far out and beat you clean it’s tough t win

Between the diamond formation and the constant allowance of in-close chances on the PK which have been a massive deficiency with no adaptation all season, in combination with the reluctance to scratch Hamonic, Highmore, or Gaudette... I have to seriously question the intelligence and competency of Travis Green and Nolan Baumgartner.
