GDT: GAME 70 | Senators @ Sabres | The Prodigal Son Returns Edition | Tue Mar 25 2025, 7PM | TSN5, RDS2

That's true, sort of:

With 2:46 left in the 3rd the Time on Ice for each was:

Hamonic - 16:08 Even strength
Sanderson - 15:39 Even Strength

Sanderson played the last 2:46 of the game, 2:30 of which the Sens were a man up on a 6 on 5 with Forsberg pulled.
Sure, Sanderson also played over 3 mins on the PP and another 45 seconds of our only pk.

We probably could have given him one or two of Kleven's shifts, but most of the game we were either tied or leading, while dominanting the play, so the urgency to shorten the bench wasn't there.

What do you mean the urgency to shorten the bench?

That's not shortening the bench. Hamonic and Kleven should never be playing 16+ minutes of ES icetime, or icetime in general. They should be playing the bottom pairing minutes of 12-14 minutes of icetime per game that both Mantiplao and Kleven are seeing this seaosn, and in a tied game should be seeing less.

2 minutes remaining in the game and they were both on the ice more at even strength every D not named Chabot.

Hammer didn’t play more at even strength.
He did, for all intents and purposes

2:30 of Sandersons 18:25 ES ice time was 6 on 5 in the final 2:46 of the game where he never left the ice

NHL only counts PP/PK/ES icetime without taking into account the goalie being pulled, because the goalie is always counted towards ES even if it's not the same

With 2:46 remaining in the game, 15 seconds before we pulled Forsberg to go a man up 6 on 5 for the remainder of the game, Sanderson had 15:39 ES icetime.

2 and a half minutes remaining Sanderson and Zub were on the ice the least out of all Sens D at even strength, on a team with Travis Hamonic....and we wonder why we are losing to Buffalo.

There should be enough guys that get to the crease, I don't understand anymore. I guess Giroux's money goes to someone who can score, but acquiring/signing that is easier said than done.
Maybe it’s just experience. They also have like zero poise. Watching other mhm games other teams have so many tic tac toe plays. We have none unless on the power play. Although that’s also a skill issue we don’t have players with great puck control and passing

That and Gaudette out there with 4 minutes left in a must win game.
