GDT: GAME 70 | Senators @ Sabres | The Prodigal Son Returns Edition | Tue Mar 25 2025, 7PM | TSN5, RDS2

I have scoured the internet, and I can 100% verify that indeed, no one has ever said "Lets go to Ottawa."

The best I got is:

My family was a good family, I had a great Canadian education and I came up in a great, little town like Ottawa

- Paul Anka

Which frankly, feels a little backhanded. Turns out, Paul Anka might be a bit of a dick.
to be fair, ottawa definitely was a small town when anka was growing up

Paul Anka is on the official team enemy list.

He was almost part owner, and sued the team.

Sports: Singer Paul Anka has settled a nasty legal dispute to the tune of a possible $1.07 million in his favor. Anka, known for such hits as “Diana,” “Put Your Head on My Shoulder” and “Having My Baby,” will receive $525,000 over two years from Terrace Corp., his partner in the Ottawa Senators National Hockey League franchise. Anka and Terrace accused each other of breaching an agreement stemming from a 1991 deal in which Terrace brought Anka into the team as an investor for his publicity value. Anka stands to receive an additional $547,000 if Terrace decides to buy out Anka’s 5% interest in the team, and Anka is also relieved of various personal appearance obligations. A native of Ottawa, Anka says he now wants to help the team any way he can. “Granted, the team is in last place, but it’s a young team,” he said in an interview. For its part, Terrace can now proceed with building a new stadium without Anka’s lawsuit clouding its future.

Edit: He owned 5 percent of the team.
