I don't like nobody stepping in to help the kid out after the Edm guy went after him a bit. Hartsy needs to answer when that happens.

Did we watch the same play?

I thought Hartnell did cut in there. It's not like he can just start punching someone with the way this game's been called.

Agreed.

Hartnell is a throwback player. He usually answers the bell. He is a welcome departure from the Disney on Ice norm in today's NHL.

Yes, and I just rewound it again to make sure I saw it right. Hartnell came over for a second and said something, but DID nothing, and really at this point in the season, it's more important to send a message to the other teams that you can't take shots at the youngsters without paying a price.

I love Hartsy, not going hard on him, would have just liked to see him answer the crosscheck Dano got with one of his own. What's the difference if we kill one more penalty? ha

I'm with you.

At this point in the season it's not about winning. A vet standing up for a rookie willing to take the body hard is more important than giving up a(nother) power play goal against.

That was so weak I don't think it could be considered a "push". Other teams watch this stuff and if they think they can get the kid off his game and take chops and runs at him without an answer, they will.

Haha, alright man.

Bullish, just like the man in the avatar...

Hartnell isn't an enforcer. He did what he had to do, but it should be up to Boll, Tropp, or Prout to answer that bell. Hartnell is far more valuable on the ice with Dano and Wennberg than in a fight.

I guess we'll agree to disagree.

Haha, alright man.

I know you are just lighting the fuse and stepping away because this is a boring game, but I'm not taking the bait, haha.

True story though, I used to test the other team on the first couple shifts by giving a little extra chop at the goalie's hand when he had it covered, if the other team answered the bell, I knew we were in for a tough game, if they didn't, it was a free for all of running whoever and knowing they wouldn't do crap.

The liberty taken with Dano wasn't bad enough to warrant Boll going after the dude in ensuing shifts, but Hartnell should have given him a chop for the chop he gave Dano. He's never been afraid to swing the stick a bit. He always steps up, I'll give him a pass, just rubbed me wrong a bit in a meaningless game.

You just proved my point of why Boll is important though, when everyone says we have team toughness and I say you don't want your scorers fighting. But a fight wasn't necessarily needed there.

Oilers fan coming in peace.

Just curious about this Dano kid. Does he always play like this. He is one chippy, skilled, little spit****.

I had this idea of him as a pure skill guy... I guess I'm wrong.
