Gauthier being back on that line is well-deserved and really reflective of his progression this year. It was clearly a bit too much for him at the beginning of the year but now you could argue he's the best player on that line. He's been awesome this year.
I think, too, that it also just makes logical sense to try to develop the pairing of kids for the future. Assuming that the game plan is to run a 1-2 punch of Leo as the 1c and Mac as the 2c, Leo is a very fast pass first playmaker with some tendencies as a shooter. Cutter is a very fast shooter with some playmaking tendencies.
If they can get comfortable with each other and learn/develop the trust to know or expect where the other guy is gonna be in the offensive zone, it can be a very productive duo. Trio if Sennecke or someone else can really mesh with them down the road.
This is going to be a tough one. Carolina gonna be angry , lost 7-2 against the Kings last night.
Have to get the first goal. They usually don’t give up too many goals. If they score first going to block the neutral zone and going to be very difficult to create space. Even if they don’t score first going to be difficult.
Really like to see Gibson get the start on this one. Just because of the experience.

I feel bad for Mac. He finally gets a consistent wingman in Cutter and revives Cutter's game only to be taken away from him so it make Carlsson look better. Not only that, but he found chemistry on the Kid Line 1.0 in Cutter-Mac-Goalangelo only for Colangelo to get injured ... probably for the rest of the season. Poor Mac, he will only be seen as a 3rd liner b/c Cronin doesn't see him as a long term solution in the top-6. Mac's currently the second best scorer and third best goal scorer on the team today.

Listen, nobody supports Leo more than me. He has my total and complete endorsement—100%, maybe even 110% if that’s possible! He’s doing tremendous things, absolutely incredible. People ask me, ‘Sir, do you really support Leo?’ And I say, ‘Are you kidding? I support him more than anyone has ever supported anyone in the history of support!’
Some people give weak support, low-energy support… not me. My support is so strong, people are calling me saying, ‘Sir, we’ve never seen anything like this before!’ Leo is going to do huge things, absolutely massive. And honestly? Anyone not backing Leo—very bad. Total disaster!

I’ll be going to at least 2 games this week. Still debating about the Toronto game next Sunday. Want to get the last day of Wonder Con in, and it’s an earlier game so may not have time. I think it will also depend how these next few games go. Lol.
