The one thing I would say, that the fact that a goalie has that competitive nature and gets pissed about not having an opportunity to play (even if he's objectively worse than the guy who beats him to that spot) is not wrong. A lot of the goalies want to be a #1, and they won't easily accept a new type of role in a solidified backup. And that's a good thing in general. But it wasn't a good fit for the team and the goalie, hence why it was good that they replaced Georgiev with Halak, who basically has made a career out of being a backup in the NHL.

I mean I bet that in private Kakko and Laf are super pissed about not getting a chance with proper powerplay time. It's not at the point where they would want out of here obviously, because they can still be a bigger part of the team than a backup would be. But you have to wonder if at some point that will be a point of discussion with their future contracts.
A lot of people tend to forget that these guys have always been the best player on their teams since they were able to skate (for the most part).

Also, there's a cockiness that pro players all have... they have to. You can't go into a game thinking you're not THE SHIT

It won't work... goalies especially.

I've known and met hundreds of pro golfers... to a man they ALL believe they're amazing. Until Tiger came along they all felt they were the best on the planet at any given time.

We should at least score some goals, and that in itself would be a win.

October games count just as much as January. 2 points, and the East is TIGHT.

We shouldn’t just accept slow starts even though we always have them (due to bad coaching/complete absence of a structured system) , the difference last year was that Igor stole us a large number of wins and that’s why we comfortably made the playoffs instead of fighting for our lives down the stretch.
I’m not talking about every game counting and that the team needs to bank points early in the year. I’m talking about whether this game should be considered a measuring stick game or not. It’s October, the players are just starting to get going. Teams go through peaks and valleys in a season. Take last year’s Rangers team in October and compare it with the playoff team. There was no Copp, Vatrano, Motte, Braun, Kid Line last October. Blais was still on the team still. Who knows what’s going to happen during this season and especially at the deadline. People need to tone it down a little if they expect a game in October to be a measuring stick game or else they’re going to be very disappointed.

Definitely a PIZZA HUT worthy game tonight. Igor & Georgiev skate to center ice and have a goalie fight

74,049,155,382,777-0 NYR

Kravtsov (74,049,155,372,000)
Georgiev own goals (552)
Panarin (107)
Zibanejad (53)
Ghost of Tony D (27)
Shesterkin (15)
Lafreniere (10)
Kakko (7)
Reavo (6)

Wish I was there to boo the worst Ranger in history tonight!
Kravtsov has looked poor, but he's not the worst Ranger in history.

We've been playing too soft for a couple of games. Come out gritty and hard hitting and we'll be good. We win by 3 goals.
