Habs in the middle of a three game homestand, having dropped their last one vs. NJ.

The loss was predictable. It was the 2nd of a back to back game, with Cayden Primeau thrown to the wolves. Sadly, another player is now out long term -- David Savard joins a rising list of casualties by being out for an expected 6-8 weeks.

Thankfully, there are other focal points to divert our attention from the chaos. One of them is Alex Newhook, having posted 3 goals and 1 assist in his 6 games so far.

Meantime, our good friend Yoelllle continues to be kept out of the lineup to the dismay of his no. 1 forum supporter, one @The Real Timo who has been pressing relentlessly about how his hero is not getting his due.

Armia is the object of speculation, as Kent Hughes is apparently trying to jettison him to the Caps in a deal involving Anthony Mantha. If that's the case, then it's just a matter of time for you, Yoelllle.

Also of note, thanks to the new stats service offered by the NHL, we are learning that there are two Habs who have posted the most powerful shots so far this season -- Arber Xhekaj in the 6th spot (99.76 mph) and Mike Matheson in 10th place (97.67 mph).

Nice to see The Sheriff get props for more than his ability to dish out his usual fare.

As for Mike "Billy" Matheson, his highlight reel goal against the Devils was so scorching, that it got the attention of an ex-Hab who has seen his share of dramatic moments:

Nice going, Billy!

One door closes, another opens. Looking like Justin Barron is now in a unique position to garner more playing time further to Savard's injury. He's only played 3 out of the Habs' 6 games so far however, he has goals in the last 2.

Last but not least, with the game on RDS, an irritating cast of characters will once again pollute the airwaves during intermissions. One of them is a shameless Sens fan but that won't stop his raspy, grima voice from manufacturing his usual droppings. Please go away, François Gagnon.
