Ah, so that makes him a dick? Apparently Jason Arnott trashed him in an interview but Strickland also said recently that he's only had good interactions with Suter. I guess nowadays just a couple of quotes or an interview or two brands a guy a dick for life.
Suter was a well known locker room problem in both Minnesota and Dallas. Signing with the Blues doesn't change this.

I don't make a habit of posting on other teams boards, but reading this GDT this seems like a good group.

Just wanted to say the Blues did really well it seems getting Broberg (and Holloway too). It's early I guess, but I'm not sure I'm understanding what the Oilers were doing with their D if Broberg couldn't get a shot. He looked good out there.

EDM played Broberg on his offside with partners not good enough and then complained that he is not progressing.

They must think this is actual rocket science.

Well f***.

Hopefully the guys can rally together and tread water until he’s back…but losing Thomas for 6+ weeks is pretty much worst case scenario for this season.

6 weeks is about the worst time frame. It's long enough to kill any reasonable playoff chance but not long enough to be a guaranteed top 5 pick. If he misses 7 weeks, I just shut him down and give him all the rehab time he needs.

I wonder if we see the Blues shift to low event hockey and try to steal points by playing neutral zone hockey. Was it Tortorrela’s team that sent zero forecheckers and waited in the vital zone, so the opponent just sat there with the puck in their own zone?

Or will Banister keep trying to play the same game plan with a cobbled together center group for a few weeks?

I think it's best to play the system we want to play to teach the kids how to play it. Even if we don't have the horses to pull it off right now.

Guy Boucher in Ottawa, I believe.

Sucks to hear about Thomas, really thought he could break the 90 or even 100 point mark this year with some of the talent on this team.

I watched this game last night and knew that Winnipeg was coming in hot and are good right now. I thought for sure we might get killed, but surprisingly, we held our own for the entire game. It really didn't feel like Winnipeg took over long stretches and we countered really hard. A lot of the shots were to the outside I noticed, but we did get in pretty close as well for some good chances, so I'm not sure if this was strategic, or if Winnipeg was playing us to the boards. In any case, I thought the rush looked lively and I thought the defense was mostly good. Lots of awkward passes that resulted in a turnover, so they need to clean that up, but I thought the game plan was pretty good this early into the season. I didn't really feel like Binnington played bad either, I thought he was quite good. two of the goals were just unable to be saved; one looked like a screen where he was close to gloving it, the other was a unreal shot by Connor. Overall, really happy with the tenacity of the team, the forechecking, how they play with pace, and the goaltending has been good. It's a loss, but it's a good loss.
